    Prius folks,

Bought me a 2010 III (gray + Nav) a couple of weeks ago and am having a ball with it. Every drive seems to bump up the MpgMeter half a point: bearings getting smoother faster than the driver is. I guess the hot weather here in Memphis also helps.

I quit flying gliders last year and am now learning to how to glide in my Prius - this is great because now I don't have to worry about takeoffs and landings ;).

Sure appreciate all these great posts and the storehouse of knowledge they contain! The website is really  !

Welcome to the forum Glider. Congratulations!!! I was looking for a # III with Nav package and was told that they haven't started making them for the Gulf states yet. How much did you get the car for out-the-door?

That's interesting because both Memphis dealers I talked with said they found a Gray G3 with Nav seve3ral hundreed miles away. One said it was "less than 500 miles", the other dealer had two answers (Salesman said 270 miles, Sales manager said 450 miles). Anyway, I told them I would accept a car with 300-400 miles on the ODO and we closed a deal? at $25,940 minus $10,174 trade-in on 2004 CRV (67,000 mi).

Above number included $1,800 Nav Pkg, $200 carpets, $69 detailing (I know, I know)

    Then there was:
    $329 document fee (I know, I know)
$1,000 Toyota Extra Care Platinum Plan (7 yrs, 100,000 mi, $0 deductible)
    tax ($1224 + $80 + $68)
    temp tag ($6)
    state license ($23)

Grand Total of check: $18,497 + my '04 CRV EX (cond. good++).

I'm afraid the pros are going to tell me "you got rooked", but I went in with all the numbers: two workups on CRV trade-in value, dealers invoice, even approx. dealers holdback, and worked two dealerships for a total of about 8 hrs. This was the best I could do - they are mostly selling their Prius within 2 weeks on the lots here. BUT I love the car and am happy !!!! :) :)

BTW _ the finance manager told me I could cash in my CRV maintenance agreement and I have now gotten back $330 from HONDA. If anyone else trades in, DON'T forget to check this! I was unaware of the cashout, even though I knew I could xfer to private buyers but not to dealers.

    Glider,
I must say, you got a pretty good deal there. On the 2010s, the dealers are sticking to MSRP. The invoice is about $1000 less than MSRP. So, at the most, in case you were dealing with a small-town dealer, you would have saved about $200-$300. No biggie. You saved quite a bit on the 7-yr warranty. My dealer was trying to sell me a 6-yr plan for $2495.

Glad to hear that you're liking your new ride. Enjoy :)
