As I've said before, we better hope that we are starting a long sustained solar minimum (no signficant sunspots for a generation or two) and that this has a greater impact than the models presently predict. Because if we aren't, the next few years could be real scorchers.

If I was a denialist betting on the Sun's cycles I would be very concerned about how warm these past few years have been despite the point in the cycle... They are making some highly improbable bets about what will happen assuming the sunspot cycle resumes.

Better to burn out, than to fade away?

Giant solar flatulence, so to speak. Maybe the Sun needs Tums.

Yep, I want badda boom. Actually, we had a cold winter, a pissy and cold Spring, around 14 days of 28-31 C weather, now more cool pissy weather. If this keeps up, I might as well spark up the gas fireplace again

Set a new record high low today. 66 was the record back on this date in 1958 and we hit 62 today. The average low is like 64. :(

The weather forecasters were correct about their predictions back in February, stating that this will be a summer without summer.

I haven't heard that one before. Usually, balls are associated with cold. As in, 'cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.'

Okay, you heard it here first: "Hot enough to melt the balls off a brass monkey."

Yesterday: low 49, high 65. Low this morning, 47. Forecast high 72.

Kind of sucky weather for the middle of July. I have a dinky sickly little tree in the front yard - I keep hoping it croaks so I can yank it out - and the leaves started turning yellow this week

I thought good, it's finally going to die on me. Except walking around the 'hood, I noticed other trees are also turning their leaves. That's a bad sign. I'm in no mood for an early fall and another bone-chilling winter

Um, speaking as one guy to another, you had better see a doctor about that.
