    OK here is the dilemma.

I have an 08 Black/Black Package 6 with Lifetime Sat Radio and about 31K miles on it.

I love the car. My wife has an 07 Prius with 25K miles on it and we also have a Nissan Armada 05 with 70K miles on it. All three cars are paid for. We kept the Armada for trips to the beach, traveling with grandma and the kids and plus we wouldn’t get a lot for it as a trade in. Lastly, my wife will NOT drive the Armada unless I have a heart attack while we are in it together, and even then it might be iffy for her to get behind the wheel…

I bought my 08 when I was given a “road†job in central Florida and obviously put a lot of miles on it driving around Central Florida.

Last month I was promoted to a “work from home†job where I will be traveling 1-2 days a week but now by plane. The airport is only 15 miles from my house and it does not seem to make sense to keep my Prius any more. In addition, if I was to make driving trips, our new company policy mandates the use of a rental car for over 150 miles of driving per day. They figure a 40$ rental plus $20 I gas beats 150 miles * .45 in mileage reimbursement (150x.45 = $67).

HELP I don’t know what to do.

    I appreciate any suggestions.

How about selling both the 07 and 08 and get two new 2010's with everything. Or hold off for the 2011's

You two each get a new Prius, and two others that can't afford a new one get you old ones.

If I'm reading this right, it sounds like the OP needs the extra room of the Armada for those weekend activities. So if one car has to go then it's the Prius. Personally I see two courses of action:
    1) Just sell the Prius, drive the Armada only when you have to.
    2) Sell both the Prius and the Armada, get something with enough room for the trips but better gas mileage than the Armada. (You might even make out OK financially depending on how much vehicle you really need and whether or not you are willing to buy used.)

Only you know what you really need, but I would at least look into option 2 to see what's out there. An Armada is a thirsty beast!

    Brick,

    You are probably right.

Sem them both and get something newer that holds 6-7 with room for some suit cases and coolers.

    Thanks

Since you have two Prii, I guess you don't really need a second one since you work from home.

I work from home, don't drive much, but still love my Prius for bombing around town and making some trips to the neighboring big city. Why sell it? It's paid for, it owes you nothing. I would only suggest you get rid of it if you needed the cash or was going to do without that third vehicle.

I'm trying my darndest to resist the urge to upgrade until there is a plugin Prius, or a dedicated electric vehicle that suits our needs.

Oops, didn't read the whole thread. Maybe you should sell all three vehicles and get a Ford Flex. That's a sweet ride, read up on what Sync is and does and you'll love it. No, I don't own one, it's too big for our family of 4 and is a gas guzzler compared to the Prius. Just a thought...
