    ALS,

That is so awesome. Congrats. Sphyrna, does that make ALS the first?

Someone named SFS on the "Are you the first.." thread already claims to have been, and he already has the vehicle in his possession. So I guess he either found a very accomodating dealer or the dealer put some "weasel clause" language in the purchase contract to take back the car or make SFS pay if the CARS doesn't pay him for whatever reason.

I think we should definitely also declare a winner of a true "first-completed-legit-no-doubt-about-it-credit-really-applied-to-dealer-already" deal! That may happen sooner than Monday, we'll see...

If any dealers are out there looking, please post any 'done' deals when you get a chance. Thanks!

What about if I leased a car that I want to turn in.... does that count?

You need to have 'owned' it for the past 12 months minimum and have the title. It must also have been registered and insured for the last 12 months minimum.

Check out the cars.gov website for all the details.

So do you guys think it's a good idea to go ahead and go into the dealer tomorrow and get the paperwork done? My car isn't even at the dealer yet (prius on order), so the funds might run out before the car even comes.. I'm not sure what to do. Apparently my car has ported a few days ago so how much longer should it be?

Lulz, I gave my dealership all my 'supporting' paperwork last week and they have copies of everything. This way, as soon as they're approved to begin processing cars, they could 'theoretically' process my car through the CFC system without waiting for me to come in, etc. I've already notified them that as soon as they can process my car through CFC, I can come down within 30 minutes and complete all the paperwork, etc to take my Prius home.

I would recommend you do the same; bring in your registration (best if you can bring in this year and last year's docs), title, proof of insurance (best if you can bring in this year and last years docs). That's basically all they really need. Once they have copies of all that, they can begin 'processing' you as soon as they're authorized to do so. I'm just unsure how they would handle the 'sale' date on your particular vehicle since it's not on their lot yet. I believe that the CFC transaction needs to occur at the time you complete the actual purchase of your new vehicle. I'm sure your dealership can come up with a creative solution ;)

In essence, I'm on standby starting right now through early next week. As soon as they get their approval/authorization to process CFC vehicles, I jump into my Explorer and drive it to the dealership to complete my purchase and drive my new Prius home. Poor thing has been sitting in the back of their lot for a week now with a 'sold' tag hanging on the rearview mirror...
