Do you feel like you are sitting a lot lower in the Gen 3 compared to the 2? One thing I like about my Corolla is the height. I can't remember how the height felt when I test drove.
At 4' 9" I had my doubts about owning a prius bc of poor visability. When I test drove the G2 I didn't have any trouble seeing over the steering wheel, but I definetely sat lower than I would have prefered. I was thrilled to learn that the G3 had the same pump up driver seat that is on both my kid's '07 corollas. I can see perfectly! I drove a minivan for 20 years bc a had good visability, but the visability in the G3 has exceeded all of my expectations. And the back-up camera makes a big difference. Love it!
Here in The Netherlands I have loads of ppl checking out my Pearl White Gen III. It's a rare sight since they have only been on the road for a few weeks. It must be a combination of the color and the new looks I guess. I find that most people, even those sceptical of the Gen III, are extremely positive about the new design, both interior and exterior.
@Willster: Where do you live in the Netherlands? I've ordered a blue Gen II with solar back in May and it will only be delivered Sept 25th. I'm in the Utrecht region and I'd love to spot your new car.
I also live in the Utrecht region. Will get my Pearl White in October (b/c of the solar roof and aqua interior). There is one red Gen III in the neighbourhood here, he just got it, he had a Gen II before. And I do see him talking around the car occasionally with others. The car definitely attracts people's attention.
My salesperson told me that some Gen 3 owners have to add extra time to their trips to the store because people stop them. I though, psh, yeah right. Then, while she was filling up mine at the gas station before heading home, a man came over admiring it. He was a Gen 2 (2004) owner and wanted a Gen 3. I was amazed...no one ever did that with any other car I bought.
I work downtown and there are a lot of pedestrians. So I was waiting at a light around lunch time yesterday, and a lady on the sidewalk points to my car and excitedly tells her friend, "thats the one from the commercials, I want to buy that car!" so she then realized I saw her and she blushed. I smiled and drove off.
