I keep seeing this thread marked as "unread" in my subscriptions, and lists a last page that I apparently can't view. Is anyone else having trouble with this thread?

p.s. since I posted this, it seems to work... maybe a troll post was deleted? anyway... disregard

No, they're just not smart enough to realize the oil needs to be changed or the tires rotated.:D

at ~8500 miles I just saw this light up on my Prius.

She got her first service at ~4000 miles. Seems a bit premature?

Same here. Back in 2004 I rented a Prius (a test to see if it would work for me). When I got in it had that "MAINT REQD" light on. The guy at the rental place assured me there wasn't a problem and to ignore it. At the time I didn't know what it meant and it had me a bit worried.

That's a rather strong term to use and not accurate either but I will keep that in mind.

I still stand by what I say and find women car enthusiasts to be VERY rare compared to men, let alone ones who work on their own cars. I can probably count the # of car enthusiast women I've ever met in my life on one hand. This is not meant as an insult.

Another case in point: Just the other weekend I found out that my mom does not know how to check her tire pressure, doesn't know how to inflate her tires and didn't understand what I meant about the dangers of tire failure if tires are severely under-inflated. She was like "failure? so what? I don't care!"

This was related to the ! with tire icon that I noticed on her NAH's dash (it looks identical to the one on the Prius). She had no clue what that was either and all she said was that it would intermittently come and do away.

By the way - There is an interesting change for the 2009 Camry Hybrid. You must place the dash display in TRIP A, then shut it off, then hold the odo button and turn it on. Why Toyota decided to shift from setting it to the odo display, I don't know - but now it is TRIP A. Wasted an hour on the oil change trying to figure that crap out. Change for the sake of change is just dumb!!
