This might be a silly question....but what did you name your prius?

I keep calling mine my Podprii. Is that a name? Either way, I'm very happy with it!

I too have named mine Yoshi. It was his name long before I got him. We always name pets and such after famous things. Cat named Stimpy (RIP), cat named Lilo, French Bulldogs named Stitch and Ozzy. So since the Prius is Japanese, Yoshi just fit. And I think he likes it.

    Molly B.

    Full name Molly B. Denim

Her name was originally just Molly but I remembered a dude in power school that could never pronounce molybdenum and said Molly B Denim. So there you go.

    Molly pop too.

Just got my first new car (which happens to be the 2010 Prius!) on Tuesday, cashed in on the CARS deal. Traded in a 1997 Ford Explorer, got a Sandy Beach Metallic Prius III. I dubbed her Goldilocks.

If I had gotten my first color choice (barcelona red) I would have named it Red 5. Spot the reference...

My wife named our 2010 Prius "Cookie II." "Cookie" was the name she gave to our 2004 Prius.

My Prius hasn't done anything remakable enough or stupid enough yet to have earned a special name. But it will. It will.

Named her Pria. My Barcelona Red. All my girlfriend are redheads and my wife is ok with that! Lola is my "red headed" Lawnbott Evolution that automatically mows my back 1/2 acre. Even have a song for her! While I sit on the back porch and drink beer I sing " Her name is Lola, she is my mowa', I like the way she cuts my grass and she's got a real cute ___?@$!" Anyone got a song for Pria, my new redhead?

And probably female, but as a Navy man I tend to think of all vehicles as feminine, whether or not they float.

    Eggi-san

The steering wheel is shaped like and egg. When I took my first right-hand turn it felt so odd to me. I looked at my friend in the passenger seat and said, "check this out! The steering wheel is shaped like an egg." We laughed.

I added the "san" out of respect for her lineage. And I tend to refer to all vehicles as female... if I do I know I'll treat them better :)

We've named our cars, mostly to be able to refer to what car we are going to take when heading out. Our Jeep is called "The Red," our SLK is "The Baby," the SAAB is "The Swede," and the Prius is "The Crazy." I didn't come up with that last one (my better half did) and it is reference to the car's so-called odd appearance. Ahem!

In 44 years of driving I have only owned 4 cars so far. I Get my Prius this Friday.

That means they are all easy to remember. These are British cars so may not be familiar to you guys in the U.S.A.

Doris........A 1957 Morris Oxford. ( The sort there are still a lot of these in India, working as Taxis)
    Vicky........A 1966 VW fastback
George.....A 1989 Vauxhall Cavalier. I don't recall why the change of gender.
    Primrose...A 1999 Nissan Primera.

Although she has not arrived yet, I know my Prius will be the most refined, quiet, cultured and complicated car I will have ever owned and therefore only 1 name is appropriate:-

    PRINCESS

I just have to be sure not to drive through any tunnels in Paris though.
