I just purchased a 2010 Prius III that I will pick up today or tomorrow. What options are recommended?
    Thanks, Jay

Hi Jay1 ! (Oh goodie, another New Englander) My dos centavos on this - and you'll get a lot of centavos:

Get a rear bumper applique to protect the painted bumper when you drag stuff in and out of the back. If not the clear one, there's a heavy-duty black one. Especially important if you have a dog!

Some sort of floor mats/cargo mats. Get them through the dealer or through the PriusChat shop. (I think the carpet ones are on the flimsey side, and will replace them with the all-weather versions for the winter)

If you want, you can ask your dealer to disable the constant beep that sounds when you put the car in reverse. (If you do it after you have the car you might get charged for it!) He can disable the seatbelt beep too.

For me those are the basic basics. Others have added lighted door sills (very cool) the coating for the front of the car to protect from dings, and about a million other cool modifications.

    Good luck and happy driving!

    Thanks for your suggestions MaggieMay.

I finally got my car on July 29. She is beautiful. Nice Metallic Silver with dark grey inside. She came with the rubber floor mats, clear rear appliqué, and tire lug locks.

I was debating about the coating on the front of the car. I might go back for that. I didn't want to leave her at the dealer one second longer than I had to.

I was checking out the sun visor for the front window. The dark color inside makes her hot inside.

Too bad I didn't read your reply earlier about disabling the beeping in reverse. That is annoying. Guess they REALLY want you to know you are going backwards.

BTW, my dog sits in the front seat. (ha ha)

    Thanks again,
    Jay
