I am just curious to see how many people did take delivery of the vehicle by today. How many left deposits but no delivery yet.

Hang on! You will soon see, even for yourself... They might well call you back in to repair the paperwork. Or worse. You might get lucky, then again you might not be so lucky. Time will tell. For myself, I'm just waiving a full payment check, car on the lot:( and waiting and waiting and waiting...

    All Best!

I did I did. I was very apprehensive, but yesterday before all the hoopla came out about running out of funds, I paid for a IV with solar which was on the lot having just been delivered to the dealership (originally I wanted one without solar but it would have been a long wait and .....a bird in hand....). Anyway, I did the clunker deal and paid for the car and did all the paperwork, but was told to come by today so they could prep the car.

I was a bundle of nerves last night, worrying that I would be driving my clunker home today, but everything worked out fine. This was in Costa Mesa, California. Dreams do come true!

Got mine on 7/31. No problems. Clunker was only worth $2,100 so I think I got a good deal.

For some reason my 2006 Prius doesn't qualify as a "clunker"... well, I guess that's good :)

Is that because the MPG difference isn't big enough?

The clunker must be rated at 18MPG or lower. :D

Marketplace (public radio) reported today that Prius is No. 4 on the list of cars sold in the Cash for Clunkers program. No. 1 was a Ford (I think the Focus).

I picked up mine on Monday, 7/27 at 11am. I'd put a deposit down in May, the car arrived at the dealer on July 22nd, I did a 'test' drive on the 23rd (took it out for an hour cruise!) and then the sales rep went over the car with me as would normally be done when you pick it up so we didn't have to do it on the 27th. I was the dealer's first C4C sale to go through. We signed off the paperwork and I was home by noon! I happily said good bye to a 98 Ford Explorer.

I paid in full for my car on 7/30 and it is sitting at the dealer waiting for the paperwork to clear with govt. Paperwork says "under review". They have my title for my cluncker but I have the cluncker. The dealer will not release my car till paperwork status shows him a voucher #. I keep calling him everyday getting no where. They surely cashed my check for the car though and have my money! Had to pay $350 (in dealer fee) more than my local dealer (and drive 65 miles away) just to get color I could live with. They also tried to "slip in" window etching @ $169 telling me it was required. I am supposed to get a check back for that when I finally get my car. Would not want to deal with this dealer in Connecticut again! This waiting is a real PIA!!

Drove the clunker to the dealer, who had all the paperwork ready, then drove home in my pretty blue Prius II! It was very easy and my dealer made the process painless! Thanks O'Brien Toyota!:)

I couldn't wait for the 'clunker' program to begin before securing my IIIBlueII. BUT I did just utilize it for a great savings on an 09 Tacoma pickempu truck: $3500 clunker $ on a 96 Jeep, $250 scrap value $, $1000 mfg. rebate plus dealer incentive $. So I got the $30,284 rig for $25,150. And I sold my 06 HiHy privately so only had to lay out a couple of thousand dollars actual cash! I'm happy!!!
