    Hello all!
Just picked up my 2009 Base Prius the other night and have been driving lots since..just for the fun of it! I have noticed an issue, which I've tried to search on these forums but haven't been able to, wondering if its a problem with the programming or something.

Basically, I set the brightness of the spedo and dashboard to a setting that is NOT MAX brightness because I prefer a more dim setting at night. However, when i start the car at night (headlights have been set to AUTO), the brightness seems to default to MAX brightness, and the brightness doesn't change when i dial the wheel up or down, its not until I dial past the detente and go into MAX bright then turn back down that the brightness reduces.. I have to do this each time I start the car at night. Does anybody have this issue?

    thanks!

I have a 2009 Touring, pkg 6, so it has the hi intensity headlights. With the headlights off I get max illumination to the dash. When I turn the headlights on the brightness goes to about half. It is quite comfortable is both cases. With the headlight switch in 'auto', the headlights seem to stay on most of the time and the dash is too dim to see comfortably. Consequently I don't use the auto position, I turn the lights on at night and off during the day. Probably there is something about the 'auto' setting that I don't understand, but this works for me. It's a great car, you will like it.

I have noticed a few times when I have left my 2009 lights on and I shut the car off, the next morning when I start the car the dash light illumination is on as if the headlights are off but they are on. Not sure if it is some confusion with the sensor on the dash by the drivers side "A" pillar or what,

I turn the lights off and back on and the dash illumination returns to the normal dimmed illumination. Not sure why it does this but it is obviously a bug of some sort. Not sure if it is some confusion with the sensor on the dash by the drivers side "A" pillar or what exactly.
