    Anyone know about these?
I was expecting the illuminated door sill enhancements that I've seen in a couple threads here, on Toyota's webpage, and in the official Prius brochure...

But that's not what I got.
I got ones that look similar, in overall shape and color...
But instead of the Prius logo and Hybrid emblem, it just has a style line that follows the shape of the sill enhancement.

    I'll take pics tomorrow...

    Anyone?

These do not look like the official Toyota parts. I installed the illuminated sills myself last week and the parts I received came in the official Toyota box and matched the downloaded installation instructions from Toyota's website. It looks identical to all the other ones that people have posted.

Hopefully you didn't pay the illuminated price for the non-illuminated sills.

By the way, in case it wasn't clear, the official part kit includes replacement sills for both front and back doors and only the fronts are illuminated. The rear sills are similarly styled but are necessarily shorter and don't contain LEDs.

Do your rear sills say "Prius" or are they blank like mine?
Maybe I got 4 rears for some reason?

I paid $197, which is the illuminated price?

Toyota.com and the brochure only show ONE style of sill enhancement.

Those look like generic plates. The official ones for the Prius actually say PRIUS in the rear and in the front say PRIUS with the HSD emblem (both illuminated)

Ugh... I keep getting told things I already know.
What I'm trying to find out is if anyone would know why I got these instead.
If perhaps, since I'm told the rear door sills don't illuminate, maybe I got 4 rears instead of 2 rears and 2 fronts?

Do the rear sill enhancements still say "Prius" and HSD emblem on them? (without glowing)

Yeah, I guess one of them is. Thanks for pointing that out. Very crafty with that red highlighting. ;)
You're really helpful. Time to move on.

FYI: The official rear sills are not illuminate, are significantly shorter then the front ones but are similarly styled (brushed silver with chrome highlights) and read Prius. Probably 12" long versus 18-20" for the fronts (going from memory).

Personally, I think you have a legitimate beef with the dealer. From your pictures, I would say you need to ask the dealer what's up. These are upgrades to the black plastic ones that come stock but not illuminated. The pictures on the Prius Shop site would be good places to start to discuss the differences.

    Good luck!

NOLA, I wonder if the versions that you have are from a gen II? I would most definately go there and try to get the right ones since that is what you paid for.

I went to dealership yesterday and spoke with my salesguy about it.
He is looking into it and will hopefully find out why I got these and
be able to get me the ones that are advertised.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Nola, I think the root of the issue is that our (Tx and La) distributor -GST- is an independent entity, separate from Toyota USA. They do their own thing a lot. GST's bumper protector is different (black), GST's cargo net is different (horizontal) and I'm guessing their door sill enhancements are different too. Was this part of their Owner Rewards Package?

On the positive side, I prefer their bumper protector to the standard one.

I believe the sticker price on the illuminated door sills is $369, which is a ripoff cause you can get 'em on PriusChat store for $199. Of course, you then have to install them. I made the dealership take the diff. off my price! I really like them though, they look cool! Wouldn't have been a deal breaker though, either way

toyota.com only shows one door sill enhancement for me, and it's $197.
Did everyone here who bought the illuminated door sill enhancements through their dealer pay $369?

    Halligan,
No...it wasn't part of any package. I just liked the illuminated sill enhancements that I saw in the Prius brochure and on toyota.com, so I ordered them. Unfortunately, I got something else.
