I like my car alot. I don't want to have to sell it, but was wondering if someone would know the value of it as i may loose my job. I would like to know if i have to worry if it will be hard to sell it if i need to. I looked at kelly blue book but they don't have 2010's on there yet. It's the II no options other than floor mats. Currently has 3,000 miles.

I'm not sure... but I would guess at most a few thousand under MSRP...depending on just how "used" it is. (miles/condition)

Are you just asking out of curiosity or are you actually needing to sell it?
If so, why are you selling it? (if you don't mind me asking)

Lol sorry i did edit in the milage and the reason. LOL :)

so the sticker says 22,775 and the the options they put on it, floor mats and the toyo gaurd and rear bumper protector brings it up to 23,722 sticker price, what would be a fair price to sell it at? with say 5,000 miles on it?

Basically, the "fair" selling price is whatever people are willing to pay. I don't mean to be flip and I hope you don't have to sell because you'll obviously lose some money. But as long as it is in virtually "as new" condition, you might not end up losing too much. It depends on how difficult it is to get in your area and what the new ones are selling for at the time you sell. You'll probably have to eat the cost of the floor mats, toyo guard and bumper protector, but they would be good selling points.

Anyone else can answer also, but to the OP whats the lowest you think i would get with 5,000 miles and no damage on it?

I'm thinking it someone really wanted the car and it's new for 23,722 plus tax they might be paying 25,000+ for it. i would think a savy person would be wlling to pay 21,000 for a used on with 5k on it?

Put an ad on Craig's List and in your local newspaper as soon as possible.
The longer you wait, the more you'll likely lose on it.

Go stake out the local Toyota dealerships and try to scoop up a customer before one of the salesmen do ;)

Unless your state exempts private party sales from sales tax, you're gonna have to eat the tax. In this case, you're really asking what would someone pay for 5k used that they could buy for 23722 new.

My guess (not knowing your market) is 20-21k before the car sales craze ends (C4C), after that I think you get 18-19k

    Good luck!

My III had 3,400 miles on it when I bought it (it was a manager's demo) and I paid $2,000 below MSRP.

I'd think that with C4C you'd have to go lower, to be competitive with a C4C sale, and go up a bit after C4C ends.

I guess it might be hard for me to get out of my loan then. I had a trade in of 5,600 so it looks like i have already lost that equitey, so i guess if i do loose my job I may be able to get out of it maybe loosing a thousand ot two more. i know most cars loose there value fast when you drive them out of the lot. I wasnt thinking i would loose 5-8 thousand in the fist 3-6 months on a prius.

Seem to me you might do better than that. 2010 are in super high demand and there are very few used ones available. Anyone without a clunker to trade is going pay very close to MSRP or higher and pay sales tax. In a private sale, at least hear in CA, there is no sales tax, so it would seem likely you could get a pretty good price for it....good luck with your job.

I'm hoping your right. i would think someone would be willing to pay 20,000 to 21,000 maybe for it. it would help if there is a sortage of them. But it would make alot of sense for someone to save 4-5 thousand on buying a used one with only 5k on the clock. I would also think they could use a little of the money there saving to buy the 8 year 125k extended warranty, and they would still save 1-3 thousand and have a good warranty.

Well i guess time will tell, i hope i don't lose my job but they way things are looking i am trying to plan ahead. Thanks for all your guys replies.

My local dealer wanted MSRP for a demo car. It only had 400 miles on it though. I didn't bite.

I hope the OP tightens up his employment.

I would guess $19,900 or start at 21,500 and if you have negotiate down but not less than 19900
