Some may have followed my difficulty trying to get my Prius with the clunkers program - in a nutshell, too many buyers and not enough stock created the unfortunate circumstance of losing the first one I dealt on.

Longo came through big and found this one, in this environment, and held to their fleet pricing deal for me. They did not have to do this in the current market, so I can say this is an above board, good faith dealer to use.

It is a package II, blue ribbon / dark gray, with carpet mats and bumper applique.

    MSRP 23,019
    fleet price 22,619 (-400)
    clunker 4,500
final price before tax, etc: 18,119

A little bonus I was not expecting is they gave me an extra 100 towards payment for the salvage value of my clunker (a '94 jeep grand cherokee on its last legs w/ 185,933 miles, LOL)

They even bettered my credit union pre-approval rate (a pretty competitive one right now) to allow them to get the financing. This saved me the extra step and paperwork and was a pleasant surprise.

I didn't add any extras like warranty, service, protection, etc. I will shop for an extended closer to the maturity of the current warranty.

I could not be happier with the dealer, the ease, and they really fixed my first impression with them. They showed they care greatly about the customers; they could have easily made a better deal for themselves on that car right now, but they choose to follow through with me - they won me over for all my dealer needs and I can highly recommend Longo, in So Cal. They are a very large dealer, so they probably get good allocations too.

I am new to Prius and I am excited to get to know the minutia about the car. This forum was VERY valuable in my research and understanding of making a purchase - thanks to all contributors.

Congrats & enjoy! Let us know how you do with it. We've had ours for 2 weeks (as of tomorrow) and are still learning and having fun while we do it. I'm into the minutia too. My sales rep asked me if I wanted to take his Prius test!

Good luck! I've had mine a week. No clunker trade for me, my car didn't qualify. :( However, I'm having lots of fun playing with my car and finding out new things. This forum has been invaluable!
