That's a nice look with the black extending the whole roofline. I think it is one of the things that makes the solar roof option so appealing -- particularly on white -- and this is the same kind of look.

By the way, I really like the look of the donut-less wheels!

I've always liked the black roof of the Scion tC. That looks great.

This was why I wanted the solar roof so bad on mine, I love the black roof on a white car.

My friend had this done to his Infiniti and I've been contemplating doing it for a while now...

    Looks great!

Very nice. I really like the look of blacked out roof on blizzard pearl. Doing that on a V would be much cheaper than getting SR VI and shelling out $3,000-4,000 to upgrade to the factory 17" wheels, even after adding an aftermarket sunroof.

Very nice! Although a white roof is better in the summer, the black roof arguably gives a better look esp. on a white car.

If it's like the stuff my friend at work got on his Infiniti, it's kinda like a shrink wrap. Albeit a thick shrink wrap lol. This one looks like a matt black but I think it comes in all different colors etc, like even carbon fiber. My friend has his in a gloss black.

Ahhh... I've never seen that before.
I think it looks great, but all that black on the roof probably attracts a lot more heat than all the white that was there before.
I wonder if you can get it done in something wacky like urban camouflage...

    Paradox, check your PMs please!

I saw something very similar for sale by griots garage. he showed it as a brush on vinyl for protecting your front end before going on a highway trip. It had that same dull black finish and could easily be removed with no permanent damage.

I used to want a mini cooper so badly but they were just too unreliable. I have a seaside blue gen II, I wanted to paint the roof & mirrors white & paint on 'bonnet stripes' for fun, but never had the balls to go thru with it.

I have the blizzard pearl sunroof option for my gen 3, and part of the reason i sprung for it was the black top look. However there is still a gap of white up there. Maybe I will use this method to fill that in. Thanks for the photos!

Just for info: This is not a spray on paint or anykind. It is a custom wrap film. Easily installed in minutes. Has a 5 to 8 year life span and is more easily installed and removed than vinyl. Alot thicker and no water spray of anykind to install. Just wash the body, dry, cover and rub on with a damp microfiber cloth.

    The pics look great!

Where does one get something like that done and about how much? I've never seen that effect done before. I really wish Toyota had offered a "solar roof" only option instead of combining it with the "Navigation package". A good portable Tom Tom, Garmin, or Magellan system fits the bill better for me.

Goggle "car wrap" or "clear bra" or "custom vinyl" or "instylegraphics"

This should get you to your local installer or if all else fails find a website that will send you a sheet big enough to cover the roof and you can install it yourself or take that to your local shop that can install it for you.

Hi drunkin master - which did you do (install it yourself or take it to an local shop to have it installed?)

Can you say where exactly, other than google you got it from, and the price? it looks very nice.

Thanks drunkin master. Can you ask your friend if this is something a DIYer could do, and if he was interested in selling kits? I'd be real interested in having mine done in Chicago. Ask him as well if a Tint shop would be better to have install it.

    Looks sharp, real sharp.
