    Dear Remaxmanager

I'm a RE Agent here in Sedona. it's Booming here!
Are you a RE Agent? I reccommend going to the Toyota Service an Hour away.

Sorry to hear about your tires. This seams to be a problem. Love the PriusChat. It allows a person to learn or see if their incidents is unique or common. Tire Dealers as well as Toyota Service people are telling me the Prius is a "Heavy" weighted car. Therefore a person has to watch the tires real close. Air pressure and Alignment. Alignment because when you hit a bump with the weight of a Prius in can knock it out of alignment easy. Tire pressure because the wieght pushes the air out of the tire faster.

Well folks, I went to get my tires rotated yesterday and they gave me the bad news- my 2 front tires were shot- so I purchased 2 new tires. So if I have to replace tires so often, how is the Prius going to save me money again??? I realize now that I need to stay on top of rotating my tires now on this car, but still- if it is this hard on tires- this car is gonna go for broke- may have to get rid of it :(

    Moby-
Yes I am a licensed agent, but mostly now I work as a manager. The market is still strong here, although prices aren't climbing as quickly- but I think it will stay strong everywhere only because with the financial status of the country- it seems as though RE once again is the only safe investment!

[font=Comic Sans MS:7392532348]If you look at the jacking diagram in the owner's manual, the Prius center of weight is just about in the middle of the cabin, so it's not heavy, front or back. Of course the engine/motor components are heavy, which is why you run the front tires with 2 PSI more pressure.

The Integritys just weren't great tires to begin with, so watching alignment and pressure with them is critical. Be sure and put your new tires on the back, remaxmanager, to help prevent the rear of the car coming loose from the road. Better yet, get four new Goodyear ComforTred tires, same size as Integritys so no weird MPG changes. Better ride, better handling, better tread wear.

I have no financial interest in the above recommendation.[/font:7392532348]

Well my car is almost a week old, and have driven 210 miles and used a half a tank. lots of heavy city driving stop lights ect. and some freeway too. I just checked the tire pressure and all four tires have about
35lbs in each tire. Seems like most of the finding here, people are running 42 front and 40 rear. The car seems to track ok on the freeways. I just need to keep that steering wheel as steady as possible. Will be curious to see how it runs with the higher tire pressures. Hope its not to harsh. It has the oem integritys on them.

    OEM tires

I have 18k on my OEM's and will ;be lucky to make it to 20k. I can't wait to get something new. Comfortred's seem to be popular here, any pricing guidlines? Thanks!

PS I ran mine at 42/40 as much as possible. I've had a slow leak (fixed once already) in a tire as well. I dislike road noise so much I dynamated the 4 doors and even under the seats (had extra). Helped a good bit, especially with music (and new spkrs). Still lots of tire noise, I'm hoping for some quiet with the CT's.

RemaxManager- did you pop for the Goodyear Assurance 80,000 mile tires?

I'm starting to think if there is a problem with the Prius. The problem is the weight of the total car causing the suspension to be extra suseptible to being "knocked" out of alignment with little or mild bumps or ruts in the road. I've heard that Toyota is realizing this also. Anyone else have more on this?

I'm still researching the tires out there but the Goodyear Assurance Comfort Treds are the winner so far. I got a quote from the same Toyota Dealer that he'd sell them for $74 each out the door with another free alignment check.

Well, I just now have 300 miles on my car. After checking the tire pressure yesterday, which only had 35lbs in each tire. I put in 42F and 40R and see what happens. The ride might be a little stiffer, noiser, but hardly any difference. Steering might be a little better, or I am just getting used to it. Mileage will be the thing to watch. I just put in about 5.5 Gallons and the guage reads full. I stopped on the second click.

Yes I went for the GoodYear Assurance tires, so we'll see how they do- so far they are doing badly up in the mtns, but we'll see once they get broken in.

The first time I went to a car wash I asked if their employees know how to start and drive the Prius. They said no problem, we get these all the time. I watched as untrained car washers started and drove it fine. Why is it that a mechanic at the shop you went to can't? Might want to find a new shop anyway. They may have trouble with even changing the oil.

Yes I plan on going to the TOY dealer from now on, although I went there today and they said 4 hours wasn't enough time to look at my car to see why I broke down or to even check alignment- also they were very rude- so this is gonna be a crappy ownership experience already! The sales dept was friendly- but the service guy looked at me as if I was an idiot.

    RemaxManager,

There is a phone number to Toy Corp in the last few pages of the Owners Manual. Call them and complain. that'll wake them up. how far is the next Toy Dealer with service? I wish you the best of luck and hope you have better experiences from here on out.

Thank you, I hope so too. This is the reason why I stuck to Ford for so many years, my local dealer always treated me with respect, and I had very few problems. I thought when I switched to Toyota it would get even better. I buy a lot of cars, so when a dealer treats me right- they in turn get a lot of business, and quite honestly I am referring people to other companies at this point- because I am not happy.
