We "like" black (why my CRV is that color), just not keeping it clean. Conversely, I don't "like" silver, but my Avalon was so easy to keep clean in that color. I "love" the blue ribbon metalic but already see its going to be closer to black (HM). Back to you; black will look great so happy driving!

PS "like" red but had a car years ago where paint oxidized so even though paint technology probably has changed, will never buy another red auto.

Before I even voted, I knew well "Sandy Beach Metallic" would be the hands down winner for least favorite color. The color it self is a pretty color but I just can't connect it with the image of Prius. In fact, I knew it has to be least popular color because none of the dealers has this color in stock and never saw one on the road while I saw every other colors.

But for me, this color was no go because it is the color of my old clunker I traded it which I love to hate it.

If it was just white I wouldn't even consider it but the moment I learned that pearl white is available on 2010 prius, my #1 and only choice was blizzard pearl and drove 600 miles to find one in that color. :D

I didn't vote because I don't think any of the 2010 colors are really bad. When I first saw the sandy beach, I didn't like it very much. But it was indoors in a showroom and just looked kind of blah and sort of old-fashioned. However, I've since seen several outside (at dealerships) and they look much better. I think they would look very nice with the solar roof.

On the previous models, there were several colors that I really didn't like. In decending order from least favorite are:
    1) Silver pine mica - I could not imagine having to look at that color every day
    2) Super white - refrigerator color
    3) Seaside pearl - very dull in most lights -- I never saw the "pearl" -- but I've seen it look fairly shiny
    4) Driftwood pearl - not really bad, but it kind of makes the car look old.

By the way, my favorite previous colors were tideland pearl and spectra blue mica -- but when I bought my car in 2006, tideland had been discontinued and spectra blue hadn't come out yet!

In my opinion, the Sandy Beach color didn't look too good on the 2010 Prius.

I would have voted straight white as least, but I like the Blizz much better.

I like black, classy when it's clean, not so good when dirty, scratched or micro-marred.

I voted Sandy Beach. It's ok, but I wouldn't own one.

Barcelona is alright, but again, wouldn't own one. I've seen some Barcelona V's that pop though.

Gray is sophisticated, I mostly like it, but I prefer 'color'.

what else .... Silver. Not bad at all. Classy. Practical.

Blue .. Ribbon ... hehe ... nice! But to me, must have light to bring out the undertone.

I still get the grins seeing my Spectra Blue under a bright light at night or on a sunny day. When Spectra is in low light, it is kinda boring, but that is ok. All is well when light shines on it.

I bought the color that gave me the gut 'oh yeah' reaction when seeing it on the road. And this tactic worked. No regrets.

    Interesting thread this is.

I kinda liked Barcelona Red last year, but gut feel was don't go for it. I was right. Would've hated having that color, too loud for me. I would've hit Salsa Red Pearl back in 05 though.

In some light, the Seaside Pearl looked a bit interesting - when could see some gray in it. Other than that, for me, it is such an 'iffy' blue, not light, not dark, I would have regretted it. (Sorry, this is a 2010 thread)

I found a process of elimination helpful in choosing.

I voted Sandy Beach, that in EU is not even available. I don't think anybody would have bought it.
I also don't like Black, not being metallic results in being really dull.
BMW black is metallic and looks great...
I ended up ordering a "quartz grau metallic" which should be the same as the US "Winter Gray Metallic".

Interesting... I compared the results of this poll with the "What 2010 Prius Do You Have" poll (see the attached Excel screenshot).

While Sandy Beach is the least owned color and the definite leader of least favorite (followed by Black), Blizzard Pearl, the runaway favorite among owners, was also the least favorite color for 7.1% of voters here. 10.1% said Classic silver was their least favorite, which came second in ownership.

The least disliked color is Blue Ribbon at 5.9%, which is tied for 3rd place in ownership with Barcelona Red.

Note regarding the poll results-- the percentages in the column titled "Most Owned" don't add up to 100% because not everyone who responded to the poll remembered to record the color. Also, there are almost 3 times as many respondents to the What Do You Have poll as the Least Favorite Color poll.

I have a love/hate thing going with Silver! I like it, but my last 4 vehicles were silver! I mean, you can only eat so much chocolate cake before angle food starts looking good, right?!

I have a Red or Blue or White or Gray or... on order! Wish me luck!

Good luck - odds are, you'll get the grey (it was my 3rd choice at two different dealerships but got it at a third dealership because another Priuschatter told me about it when it came in after he had bought from somewhere else) ... but with four options you'll likely get one of them soon!

So which color did you vote as being your least favorite?

I dislike anything in the "BROWN" family which would include SBM. First thing I think of when I see that color is an old fart from Florida. I've had silver cars for the last ten years as they are neutral, look clean when they're dirty, and look great when they're clean and waxed!

I had a silver '06 and, while agree that it hid dirt well, I don't think it ever looked that great when clean and polished. It was certainly not an offensive color but I found it kind of bland with no depth and not much reflectivity. I also thought it scratched more easily, almost as though the paint was thinner or softer than others (I had a '96 pearl white Infiniti before my Prius and although I never had as many scratches and dings on the hood as I had within a few months of owning the Prius). But my main reason for not liking the silver very much is that it is so common -- and not just for Priuses.

    Ros,

Guess I'll have to go with the Sandy Beach! Saw one in the full sun, and it looks nice, but I have to agree with one of the folks that said, "Just not on the Prius!" But I still prefer NOT to have the silver! :)

I see you're ordering the V, so no solar roof. All the colors look better with the roof -- even silver and sandy beach!

Except black, on which SR is kind of a waste in term of look unless you keep it open 100% of the time.

If I were to get a SR IV, I'd definitely go for Blizzard Pearl for the contrast.

You're right -- but when it is open on a black, it looks like a batmobile!! :p

Well, today is not reading comprehension day for me. I voted for what has slowly risen to be my favorite color, and it's a strange one at that - Winter Gray, rather than my least favorite. Long day.

Anyway, I say "strange" because I always go for actual "colors," you know, such as the Blue Ribbon and Barcelona Red, where were my initial favorites. While I still love them and would happily take a Prius in either, I might actually hold out for Winter Gray at this point.

Good choice. I really like my Winter Grey. The only problem I have with it is that nobody really notices it. Everybody I've shown it to has been impressed, but it isn't the head-turner of the Blue Ribbon or the Blizzard Pearl (with black solar roof).

Silver wasn't my favorite color initially, but that looks like what I'll end up with. I've seen a few people with silver cars on here that look good - especially with the wheel covers off. On the plus side, silver is low maintenance and it'll match all my clothes.:D
