Very nice!! That color looks so good on that car!
I'm thinking about upgrading to the 17" wheels eventually...maybe.

Do it. It's the single biggest improvement (look wise) that you can make to the car.

Personally, I think tinting the windows makes a bigger difference, but I also think that the wheel upsize is a close second...if not tied.

I actually kinda like the look of the 15 inchers, WITH the wheel covers.
I think the 15" wheels without the covers are too "busy" looking for their small size. These are only my opinions, of course.

I definitely like the way the 17" wheels look more than the 15"... I just need to give it some time and convince myself to actually shell out the money for them and the new tires (which of course will be more costly to replace when the time comes).

I wish I could find someone local with a V that is looking to downsize to the 15" wheel. I'd do a trade + cash difference tomorrow, if I could find someone.

Re: Official 2010 Prius Owners Pics - Dueling Hybrids

Not one, but two hybrids, one black, one red and black! Yes, the recumbent trike IS a hybrid, human powered with a front hubmotor. Normally has solar panels on overhead rack and trailer with power cables running to a 36v solar controller and 36v battery pack. Capable of 35 mph and a 10 mile (hubmotor only) range. When hubmotor is used as an assist, range is limited by how far I feel like going or how heavy the load I'm carrying is. Total rig weight is 150#, or 390 with old, fat rider. Record load carried is 6 X 40# sacks of concrete mix plus 2 X 25# tubs of hydraulic cement carried 7 miles from Lowes to home (this was when I had the Jaguar - one doesn't carry bagged concrete in a Jaguar - bad for the image, Jaguar's that is. ;-) ).

I got my Prius today! Its a black III with the roof. It came with leather seats and tinted windows, I think it looks pretty sporty! I like the blue on the emblem with the black too. This the very first one I have ever seen with the roof. (I'm in Raleigh, NC)
I have only driven it a little bit so far and have just begun studying the manuals-which will be a work in progress for sure!

Not to be a wiseguy, but if yours has the solar roof and leather, it's no doubt a IV. If you paid for a III, it won't go any further. shhhh.

It's a III w/ port leather installed (factory leather installed at the port). note that the door panels are fabric, the steering wheel is not leather wrapped and crucially, the seat has no power lumbar button.

    uh huh....

I looked at the steering wheel and it looked as if it was leather wrapped. Now, closer, yep. And the door panels, yep. Did see the slight wrinkles in the seats - that should have been the giveaway. Pulled the Submit trigger too soon. And the lumbar. Good catch on your part... The CIA could use your talent...
Whoops another oversight on my part - you're a Canadian. So, if you do want a job with our CIA, slip over the border, buy a driver's license, and fill out an application. Should be quite easy...

hehe... I spend enough time around Toyotas that I can usually spot minute differences (I was one of the first ones that pointed out that the headliners were the same in all vehicles). Toyota got me hooked by their attention to detail on all their cars (well most... there were a few where cost cutting was obvious) so I've learned to pick up all the subtleties that Toyota adds to their vehicles and not mention in the brochure.... like the variable-speed power rear windows

    Looks great!!!

I LOVE black but my weekend car is black and no human being with hobbies and an active life can maintain TWO black cars. (crappy cell phone pic) :)

    Tidey,
You've GOT to get a life... :nerd:You'll probably hit 20K posts in the next year. And a credit to PC, thank you.

The life-thing - 'course so do I. I had read EVERYTHING about the '10 Prius from February on before getting my car in June. Clearly recall your mention of the headliner back then, and my then-concern about color match. Even with my bisque interior, and the notice of the mismatch with the interior pillars and headliner --- now that I have the car, it's a complete non-issue. And an OK production cost-savings for Toyota IMO.

BTW after all that research, anticipation, planning, dreaming, etc etc I LOVE the Prius (first one for me) and have ZERO remorse. $$ investment well made. Toyota did a fantastic job on the car. Glad it's selling so well.

No its a III. I wanted a IV and it was becoming the holy grail of quests. This one was offered to me, so I took it.

I have been reading a lot on this site regarding the upcoming ipod port in the car, I think after Sept? Well, I believe I have it. My ipod touch plugs into the USB port inside the armrest and all ipod song/playlist info is on my screen and I can control it through the hand controls on steering. So thats it right? This was not part of my options list-so thats why I seem uncertain. But hey it works great!

That's exactly what I wanted! But I had to get something under $25,000 to qualify for the state of Texas cash-for-clunkers program, so I just went with a Blizzard Pearl II. I love the color though, and think the white looks extra great with the black solar panel and moon roof.
