This might be a silly question....but what did you name your prius?

I know its cliche and not the right make or model, but I named mine "Kit".

 

I want to call it Starbug, but Tideland Pearl really isn't the right shade of green, and the Prius is much more reliable and refined than Red Dwarf's lander. Besides, the 'real' Starbug is now a Smart.

Because of the cool digital display, I have been to 88 mph just to see what it would do. Nothing exciting, except the massive regen getting back to a safe speed. First time I'd seen green battery bars.

 

Having given due consideration to all the excellent suggestions made by my predecessors, I submit the name "Max".

Max as in "Max Headroom" (the late 80's TV show); at 6'4" I have more than enough room in the front or rear seating.

Max as in Black Max (the adhesive), the Prius is black after all and it sticks to the curvy roads like glue.

Max as in "Mad Max" (the movie); I never actually watched the movie, but oh well. I think my wife may be madly in love with Max (the car), not the movie.

Max as in Maxine (the high tech computer that Hiram Yaeger created in the Clive Cussler "Dirk Pitt" series of books); since the Prius is so high tech.

Max is maximum fun for my wife and me to drive. We love trying to get the maximum fuel economy from our new baby.

I think I have gone on long enough...

I'm naming my Blizzard Pearl Prius II "Vice". Short for "Edelweiss" (Pronounced "Ay-del-Vice"). (Weiss is German for White.)

For those of you who remember The Sound of Music, the song goes "Edelweiss, Edelweiss....Small and white. Clean and bright. You look happy to me. To me." I would say that aptly describes a Prius, yes? =D

 

My wife named her (?) BLISS! We always name our cars, trucks & MC's. We've had Bliss since 8/3/9 & we are very satisfied with her behavier. Love the Blizzard Pearl paint. No leather as Gracie (our other daughter besides 2 human daughters) prefers cloth...

Which happens to be the CD that it plays most.

The Prius....I would call it the toyota, but our minivan is a Sienna.

 

Army Green 145. Shade of Class A uniform shirt. . But of Course the army Class A is now Blue.

 

Ours is called Neutrino, after the almost massless subatomic particle, stealthily slipping along...

 

You might decide on "Prius Puss"...

If you do a search on "priapus" (in English), you will discover that he is a greek (?) god with an amazing, um, self-esteem. It's a great name if you want to make a statement about how large, gas-guzzling SUV/Hummer/Trucks are psychological replacements for inadequate 'self-esteem' for American males....

 

I had never named a car before but when I drove up in my new to me 2008 prius package 6 my fiance asked "so how does YOSHI drive" and so that has been his name since. HA..fits him well.

 

Is the color Silver Pine Mica? Your fiance has a quick wit.

Actually its just the plain silver...not sure why she thought of yoshi. But YES THEY ARE BOTH KEEPERS!

 

I've NEVER named a car that I owned; however, I'm sooooo excited to have bought a 2008 Prius. Although it is the Base model, I love it and it as everything I need/want.

Because it is a Base, I named her Plain Jane! LOL

I normally don't name my cars, but when I registered and logged onto the Toyota Owner's website it asked me for a nickname for my vehicle. I thought of it literally, as in "what its name is going to have," and wound up with Shiva...

• Primarily because it's Blue Ribbon Metallic and that reminds me of Shiva, the summon from the Final Fantasy games -- who incidentally transforms into a motorcycle in the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII video game.
• because Shiva, in Hindu - from what I've wikipedia'd, means two things: "the auspicious one" or "the feared one." I found this fitting that Shiva's known as two different names and somehow equated that to the fact that my Prius had three different driving modes. I know... very loose association
• because apparently, Shiva is worshiped by using cannabis or ganja. Not that I feel that the stereotype is true, but I found it funny that Prius owners are associated with the "hippie" demographic and that the name I chose somehow parroted that.

So there you have it!

 

we named the first one Phil, after some debate between my little ones we decided on Phil Jr.

 

We just picked up our 2010 Prius IV today. Her name is Yum Yum. We always have named our cars, trucks, and RVs. We traded in our truck Bart for Yum Yum. Great car.
