I am very unhappy with Sirius and XM.

Apparently you can add the Best of Sirius package to your XM trial subscription. I haven't yet, but I'm going to try today.

The one thing I get from Sirius/XM that don't get from FM, iPod, and CDs is commercial-free new music. For me it's worth it. And I love the variety.

I added it to run concurrent with the trial period for $12.12. After that I'm converting to XM Everything and the Best of Sirius with a Lifetime subscription.

I just paid the $12.12. That is not a lot of money per month to get Howard back. I am not going to renew at the end of my trial because of the $75 cancelation fee they want to charge me for my Sirius account.

Any amount is too much to spend on Howard.

My experience thus far when it comes to Sirius & XM is this:

I just got my 2010 Prius and it has XM on the stock system. The satellite cuts out so badly it's impossible to listen to through most of downtown Vancouver. Now before you say 'it's those tall buildings' know this: I just had Sirius installed on my aftermarket stereo in my last 2 vehicles in the last 4 years and it cut out very very seldom, only in the same very few locations for less than a second or two. This reception I currently have on my Prius is unacceptable - am I the only one?

I will be installing an aftermarket stereo so the old Sirius antenna I have will be once again installed. But I think the average consumer in a metropolitan area deserves better reception with their XM. Is it just Canada or are you folks in the US noticing this too?

So I just canceled my Sirius account. I had a two year plan with about 3 months left. They gave me a $33 refund. No cancellation fee. Not sure why it would be different compared to a 1 year account.

Others of us in the US have noted it too, going under bridges, parking near a building, pulling into my garage and in bad weather. Initially I did not notice it, but after a few weeks it is evident there is a lot of dropout. There is a thread on this website about it troubles with satellite radio.

I have lifetime Sirius on my Smart ForTwo... so rather than paying for XM in the Prius, I just use my iPhone. I have it plugged in via the AUX port and I use the "Pocket Tunes" application. It lets me connect to the Sirius online listening streams (no extra fee like the Sirius/XM app) and listen to any Sirius channel for free in my Prius (as a result of having the lifetime on the Smart). Works fantastic, quality rocks, and guess what... it works everywhere satellite radio doesn't (tunnels, garage, under bridges, etc.). As long as the iPhone gets a 3G signal, it plays.

Are you crazy paying for that sh*t. You can download it and put it on your iPhone - no commercials and doesn't cost you anything. Just Google for Stern torrents.

So happy it doesn't cost you anything. But it costs those of us who choose to not steal plenty since we have to subsidize you crooks. Thanks a lot. Hey, where'd you steal your iPhone from? Maybe I'll go grab me one too.

:D Sure, go for it, give Stern his next half a billion for me ........

I have no beef with Apple and the iPhone is well worth the money, unlike a rip-off the Stern show has become for the last 4 years or so.... four days a week + a week vacation almost every month? Only idiots like you don't see it.......

FYI, Howard Stern has a year and a half left on his contract and there's a good chance he will retire (from radio). Just a heads up for Howard fans not to buy a lifetime subscription, or even the 3-year that they push hard. Take it year by year.

They sucked me in with the nav traffic. Gotta have that. The sat radio itself is okay. Some fun specialty channels.

I'm an idiot because I'm willing to pay for a service that I want? If Howard is such a rip-off, why do you bother stealing it? Just to make sure I understand, it's ok to steal a product that you believe is overpriced, but something like the iPhone, you're willing to pay for because it's worth it. Do I have that right?

Don't worry, no more attacks from me. I'm done with you.

Well, no. But I know a guy that still pays for his email address at Hotmail too :D

I'm not "stealing it" per se, it's available on the net. One just needs to know where to find it.

It's obvious - if someone rips you off you don't give them more money...

we chose Sirius initially because of Howard (got it a year before he went on the air there, but it was already announced). We only listen to Howard about 10% of the time. There's such a great variety of programming. I got best of Sirius with the XM not just for Howard, but because I really enjoy Whatever! on Martha.

Does anyone here know if you have the lifetime does that include being able to listen on the internet, or is that extra?

too bad Nav traffic doesn't have a lifetime.

And yes nki, you are stealing it. Just like if you downloaded a movie or songs off of the internet, that is stealing too.

I think Lifetime does include the online premium ($2.99 a month usually) at no charge. I'll be able to verify after Sept. 16 when my trial ends.

Lifetime NAVTraffic would be nice. It's $3.99 a month regardless of term at this point.

    Definitely let me know. :)
Not that I listen online a lot, but sometimes it comes in handy when work is slow and Pandora gets old.
