You got that right. It's super fun to drive my smart around. My FE does suffer a bit (see my sig) but like you said, it's plenty fun.

I agree 100% that cornering is much more fun that raw acceleration.

But I would rather have the best of both worlds. A small car with a powerful engine and huge brakes is the most fun. A turbocharged Porsche Boxster does this very well - if they only made a hybrid. I keep waiting for Porsche to make a hybrid Boxster. If Toyota would offer a "Prius XRS," I would be happy with that too. :D

That's some cornering lean going on there.

Also: holy crap dude, that's a $4000 camera! I thought my 5dmk2 was hella expensive!

If you can get Prius Team to throw in the orange cones and parking lot, I'm sold! :D
(and the option to buy a second set of tires at cost, when purchased along with a new Prius)

Yes it can :) Its amazing the cars this thing will beat. I hope to take it to the track this fall. I sadly have some "racing" stories which are fun.

A Prius might be in the future, who knows, I really love the new gen and it WILL be modified.

This is how you win an eco-drive contest.
The picture was taken by professional photographer engaged by Toyota so I expect he would only use the best.

    Nice! :D
I had one of those pass me on a freeway on-ramp once. It seemed to have the acceleration of a Corvette - and it was a hybrid! Nice!

I would love to have a "double hybrid" that had the GS450h's "electric supercharger" bolted onto a Prius drivetrain. 50mpg with an extra kick every once in a while.
They could call it the "Prius Squared" and put every other auto maker to shame. (A Lexus variant could be made also). You know it will eventually occur ... it's just a matter of how many years we are going to have to wait.

In hindsight, I should have said to hell with my career, and just gone. Another once-in-a-lifetime moment lost forever

Yes. They can both coexist within the same sentence ... or outside the same sentence ... or NOT coexist ... or coexist to some extent. That's the nature of trying to stuff everyone in the same steriotype

    ;)

Can "Enthusiast" and "Hybrid" Coexist in the Same Sentence?

Yes, but they are synonyms so there will be redundancy in that sentence. Most hybrid owners are enthusiast because they have the latest and greatest technology. With 95% owner satisfication rate, Prius and Corvette are among at the top.

One can have fun wastefully while another can have fun by conserving. Both cars are for the enthusiasts.

I think anyone who owns a Prius or any other hybrid has a little bit of enthusiast at the very least and possibly even a lot more.

The way I see it to the avid non-enthusiast a car is simply blue, red or has "wheels" or is "pimp" ...and that's an oversimplification to a degree but to some people it's spot on.

But to anyone who puts a little more thought into what they drive, in that it's a lot more than just what gets them from A to B, the car could just as well have a name. It's cool because it does things most other cars don't and it has a potential that only good drivers can unlock. If only there were more good drivers on the road these days.

Yeah it depends. Amazingly on the freeway I have averaged 32 MPG and have hit 28 MPG on a tank. When I am abusing the gas pedal:D I can get 18-20 MPG. Its heavy too, 4100 lbs.

I would LOVE to modify a 3rd gen Prius one day.
I think hybrid "enthusiasts" are ahead of the curve. ;) Its a new way of modifying and being an enthusiast!

Depending on the battery charge the car is a rocket. When full, it has class leading passing power against its V-8 competition! I've surprised a lot of people.
