IMHO I got the best deal because I was 2 days before CFC ended, and in So Cal, there were no cars (well - there were cars, but +$2,000 for chrome wheels ), from a timing standpoint, I found one at $250 off MSRP, so in the big grand scheme of things, I'm happy :D I got the last CFC that the dealer wrote (they stopped it in the morning, but mine was approved by the morning guy)...

In the days before, my XTerra (15mpg on the highway or city - it was always at 15) had its engine seize (we changed oil - synth, and for some reason, it started - a bit of smoke - but it ran), then I was backing it out of the driveway, clipped the passenger mirror - which snapped - dangling by the control wires - cut it off knowing this car was gone), stripped the interior (added seatcovers, roof rack, trailer hitch etc). The AC had a $40 part fail (thermal control valve for the AC), but it only stopped working when it was 90+degrees out), and as I was at a dealer looking for a random car, the AC sprung a leak as I parked it - a loud hiss from the hood - popping the hood showed AC refrigerant running all over the engine (adding $300+ to the fix).

Found my car (in transit to the dealer), went there, bought the VIN (100+ degree heat going to the desert from So Cal - I've not done a desert run without AC since my college days in the early 80s) - then rented a Yaris (uninspired - but functional) for 2 days.

Gotta love that government cheese mmmmmmmmmmm :p

Wife now is taking my car over her Lexus  - and I'm not liking the 2 yr old GX ride :heh:

I think I got the best deal!! I have purchased (two) new vehicles from Walser Toyota in Bloomington Minnesota. First, the 2009 Toyota Corolla for my daughter. And, recently, I traded in my 2006 GII Prius for the new 2010 GIII Prius. I was treated with kindness and respect. And, no, I didn't even get $4,000.00 off of the MSRP. I didn't even get free car mats. If you are thinking of a longer term relationship, some of those things don't matter. This is why they will have repeated business with me. And, I am looking to have the service department of Walser Toyota keep these Toyota's running. Why? Because, I was simply treated with kindness and respect. To me, this isn't like purchasing something for less than $3000.00 on Ebay. And, with someone you don't know. It is a larger purchase or purchases. For those larger purchases, I'd prefer to have a closer relationship. And, I have found it with Walser Toyota in Bloomington, Minnesota. Retired US Military Officer here.

Just bought my Prius II from Earl Stewart. Very pleasant experience and fair price. No dealer fee, which is nice. Would definitely recommend Earl Stewart Toyota in North Palm Beach.

I also bought my Prius from Jim Barkley. It's the 2nd Toyota I've bought from them (03 Matrix) and I completely agree that they are undoubtedly the best car dealer I have ever bought a car from. I love that they have their bottom line (very competitive and only) price on the web and that there is absolutely no funny business or surprises with a deal. I did the entire sale by phone/fax (including C4C) and when I arrived at the dealer to pick up the car it took 20 minutes to sign the papers and get instruction on the Prius. Other car dealers seem to be locked into making money by scamming as much as they can from their marks (aka: customers) when they probably could make even MORE by dealing in volume and treating cars like refrigerators and their customers like royalty as JB does.

So, we got a much better deal than what I'm hearing hear. I'd like to say that Toyota of Greer (SC) had great and straightforward salespeople and they worked with us for a SUPER deal. :) I'd recommend them anytime. If we hadn't have gotten our Prius there, we would have gone to Asheville.
