A Priori, you could ask around your area for a practitioner of the arts to do a blessing on your car. If you were near me, I would do it for you.

if you send me your mailing address, I will send you what you need to do it yourself :)

Priori, Martin, and me. 4 accidents, 3 Prii, all blue.

I'm convinced that the blue paint on the 2010s contains a strong magnetic force...

Man, that blue color just is bad luck.

I suppose since my car already was one of those "objects may appear smaller than they are" in the side-view mirror (American cars have that warning etched into the mirrors), the blue color may have made it just fade away! And, your English is perfectly understandable and well done. Would you like to see what I can do with Mandarin? (The correct answer is: "No; but thank you, just the same.")

    Glad to hear that!!

Thanks, guys! I certainly would prefer a blessing to an exorcism, but I'll stick with my belief that living beings are worthy of (and benefit from) blessings. It could be that the blessing is already being laid on me: I'm learning that as much as I "love" my Prius, it really is nothing more than an incredibly well-designed and assembled machine.

Rae Vynn -- you'd be my choice for any Prius blessing, though!

Regardless, you are welcome to go dance for me!

Hmmm, that would have been my first color choice. I guess I'm glad that they only had black on the lot!

I saw a 2010 Prius blue ribbon today on HWY 53 going north.

Funny...there were no dings or dents on it....yet!

My 3rd Gen Blue Ribbon Prius got hit in the parking lot yesterday night too. The person who hit me said she never saw me coming when she was backing up her car . I read a couple times of this post last few weeks, I can't believe my 1 month old blue ribbon Prius would get hit too. I think Blue color might be too stealthy at night. I'm Going to missed my prius for the next few weeks :(

I can't decide whether to take my car to dealer to fix or a well known outside body shop to fix. I know that dealership might take longer time to fix but does it worth the wait. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Funny because I thought about suggesting the same thing to you, a priori! Blessing someone or something is a common practice in my native country, but I was not sure if there is such thing here in the US. I highly recommend it! :)

    A Priori,

I am worried now. I had you in my car at the last Prius Event in Chicago, and a few days later, I got some damage to my passenger side rocker panel. I hadn't really thought much of it until now.

I will steer clear of your neighborhood from now on. No more stalking the AT package cars for me... ;-)

lol! I think you should be fine by now. I've been out of your car for a long time -- other, "safer" folks have sat in that seat, so you should be good!

You don't happen to be Greek, do you? A very good friend of mine is. I guess the tradition is to take whatever loose change you have in your pocket and throw it unto the floorboard where it is to remain until the day you get rid of it. Or you can just take a plate and smash it against the A-pillar. Your choice at this point.

Love it! No, I'm not Greek, but I love the idea.

I don't know about the "plate against the A-pillar" notion. All I can see are scratches in the paint -- and another visit to the body shop.

I still don't have the car in to a body shop. For some reason, this time the shops are not giving acceptable quotes, because they do not have access to the 2010 information. For the previous fix, the shop sent a quote based on 2009 parts, and the difference was small enough not to matter. This time is different: I have a Prius V w/ AT, so I need LED headlamp assembly, headlamp washer assembly, front bumper assembly, IPA sensor & a couple of other parts that weren't even options on the 2009.

So far, it looks like the cost is going to be $3,500 +. Ouch!!

My Toyota dealership got me in touch with there certified shop where the correct information is available. It looks like I'll go there and then get a Toyota rental from the dealership. (No Prius available, but I should get a Corolla or Camry.)

Sorry to hear about your accident. I'm assuming no one was hurt. The other good news is that you have a responsible, insured person to shoulder the cost.

I suggest you contact your dealer for a recommendation. The reason is the car is so new that many body shops do not yet have the 2010 parts and pricing info. They may quote based on a 2009, and if you have some 2010-only parts (meaning new to 2010 and not available on a 2009), then the difference between quote and reality could cause trouble.

    Yeah, well good point.

I saw three sides of it, but missed the driver's side. Who knows what evil lurks there? LOL.

Anyways, good luck getting your Prius fixed....again.

Everyone knows that Chicago area drivers are brutal.

    Thank you!!

True enough, I suppose, though I do remember the Boston drivers being a bit tougher (or crazier!).

I'm new to this forum... and trying to get my hands on the new 2010 Prius II! It is very hard to negotiate. But in considering the purchase... I was worried about the expensive repair costs. HOw does it compare to other car repairs? I live in the city so driving can be a little dangerous and people can't drive! Someone actually backed into my car in a parking lot!! Right into the door! Totally stinks, and I've gotten rearended and I've also crashed into someone when the car in front of them was making an illegal turn in the rain!! So ridiculous! So I feel ya! But I want to make sure that it's easy to get the Prius repaired and parts and all. It takes a long time to get a regular car repaired because they have to "order the parts" etc. I have a camry. Would like to downgrade to a smaller car, with more fuel efficiency.

The repair costs (for collision damage, anyway) for the Prius depend largely upon the Prius model. I have a Prius V which has some extra, more expnsive stuff. A model II will be considerably less expensive.

I haven't found delays, except in getting a "hybrid" stick-on ordered from Japan.

I ordered the parts this past week, and I heard today that they will be ready to go tomorrow!
