My sunglasses aren't particularly tiny (I don't think), and they fit just fine.

That is a shame! I thought I was having trouble getting mine to work, too; but, I found that to operate it (after going through the programming procedure), I had to hold the HomeLink button down for a second or two to cause the door to open/close. In contrast, the garage door remote had only required a brief pressing.

    Get a smaller purse! :D

Seriously, it's just a small space.

Does it require it's own thread?

I keep a howitzer in there but my wife complains since it's her car :boxing:

Have one of these spaces in my 2005 Kluger (Highlander) and used to think it was useless. Sides not high enough to stop things falling out, to hard to get to, no use for mobile phone as reception sucks.

Then I got my TomTom Satnav and decided to use the 12V outlet to power it. Got an extended USB lead and have run the cable under the floor mats, up inside the door frame trim and have mounted the GPS holder in the bottom corner of the windscreen. Works fine and no messy cables hanging over the radio and heater controls.

My new Prius Itech (about six weeks to go) already has Toyota SatNav built in but I am thinking of mounting my TomTom in it using the same system as with the Kluger. It has the traffic information, safety cameras etc on it whereas the Toyota has nothing and costs a fortune to upgrade. Probably just use the Toyota screen to control the entertainment if the iPod connection is included. My car will be a September build so I am hopeful.

The seat heater controls being placed there are ideal as I probably will never use them.

Great idea!! You must be parking overnight in NYC. The best idea for an alarm that I've heard yet. Silent but deadly.

I was frustrated by the transition from my Gen2 to the Gen3 for lack of storage places. I wrapped a leather fanny pack around the console just below the shifter. Use an old leather belt to hang leatherman tools, mini light, etc. Also a strap around passenger headrest for sunglasses case, ipod case, reading glasses case, etc. The spot below the console, I have a portable TV that I can prop on the top glove box for watching video podcasts during lunchtime. I'm still trying to mount a bicycle type bottle holder that I mounted previously on my Gen2. Anyone know how to snap off the console covering?

Does someone sell an after-market kit to cover up the space (with a door-like opening to access the space)?
