How Many Prius's In Your Workplace Parking Lot? (inc. yours)

Most of my customers have very small parking lots - 6 to 10 cars, so I'm the only Prius there. But I have seen several around in our area, and lots of people are interested in more info about them. One of these days I plan to "sell" one. My dealer said if I sent them to him, he'd send me a gift certificate. While that is nice, it's not as important and helping others save gas!

The question gave me a chuckle. You see...

One of the big selling points I had for buying the Prius was it's distinct shape (and somewhat distinct blue color). "It would be so easy to find it in a parking lot," I said. (In my family, technical accomplishments and gas mileage just aren't very interesting).

So we got the Mighty Bluebell... parked it at the lot where I work and came out to discover not one but two Seaside Pearls, almost side by side. It's a relatively small lot (maybe 80 spaces), so it wasn't long before I met the owner of Bluebell's twin. We wave at each other in the mornings now, and at the other Prius in our lot... suddenly they're everywhere. Right now our lot regularly has a white, the two blues, and that grey-green color.

Who knew I worked in such a cool place?

ps. Boo on my fellow science workers, though... they all drive SUVs.

 

You can spot one infrequently at best here in Northern Alabama and at my workplace, which is a huge gated campus (holding somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500 vehicles), I reckon that mine will be the first when it arrives at the end of the month.

Seems like the Prius population explosion happened at the library here about two weeks ago. Being a library, the cars change all the time depending on who is using the library, but I almost always see 1 and often see 2-3. Seaside Pearl is BY FAr the favorite color-- what is it with Viriginians and Seaside Pearl? Is it because we are blue blooded? Because we eat Blue Crabs? Because the weather is gray enough, who needs a gray car? Because all the Salsas were shipped to California?

 

As far as I know, I am the only one at work and church. but then, I haven't polled the whole lots.

I'm at a external office of a known media company, and in my parking structure there's various cliques of parked cars.

There's the Prius one of silver/silver/blue (mine)/black, the 3 Porche Boxsters, a couple? Minis, and so.

At least here, my color is still unique.

 

Actually, what is funny when I went to pick up my Prius from the Toyota lot there were 4 F150s parked in the 6 employee slots.

I work at a Club in Chicago and that was where I got my first glimpse of a Salsa Prius in our parking lot and fell in love. With luck and the demise of my 1992 Dodge Caravan, I was proudly driving my new Black Beauty about a month later. One day after work I went out to my car and thought I was seeing double! There parked right next to me was another black Prius and the Salsa two spaces away. They seem to be floating around Chicago, as I have seen 3-4 others in my daily commute.

 

There are 3 in the lot - mine, my brother's, and one owned by someone in one of the other companies who share the lot.

In my car port area at home, there are two of us, and one Ford hybrid. The other Prius owners bought theirs after checking mine out and we talked about it for a while. They used to drive a caddy.

Funny thing happened last week. Was at the car wash early (yeah, I know - car washes are bad) and when they drove mine out to dry, they parked me next to the other early birds - two other white prii.

We have at least 10 or 12 Prius at my work.

 

looks like i have a couple of responses to make here.

bobc- aww, now i feel bad. keep in mind i'm 22 years old and my perspective of what's middle age is biased. my mom is 45 and she acts a lot older than she should...

mystery squid- let us know if you try that line and it works. but avoid the big scary guy types.

Besides being the only one in my school lot, I'm probably one of only 2 or 3 Priuses in the area. Lonely days waiting for a wave.

 

There are four Prii that I know of, two white classics including mine, one seafoam green classic, and on black '04. However, there are also two HCH's, and one Insight., giving a total of 7 hybrids in our lot.

Here's an early morning view of the parking lot of one of my clients, Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA). OCTA is the bus service we have here in Orange County, California. All of their motor pool vehicles are white Prius'. My Driftwood Prius is in the foreground.

i have the seaside pearl one (yes i'm in VA) and there's one other one in my parking lot. so far on the roads i've only seen 1 other pearl and a silver and a couple of red... not too many yet

I'm a computer geek at the MSP airport, there is one other Prius in the lot where I usually park and a black one in the lot where Northwest has their SOC (systems operations and control, the place where they monitor all their flight activities). I have to fly to various other airports on a regular basis and almost always see one or two when I'm in Denver.

Yesterday however, I was parked in the main parking ramp rather than my usual lot. As I was leaving work, I get into the ramp, walked out to my car, grabbed the door handle, nothing :Wth: I try again, the same, then look around, then walked 20 feet to the other Salsa, got in and drove home , too bad the owner of the one I went to originally wasn't there, could have been a great laugh!

Tons of Prius at the National Security Agency and around Northrop Grumman headquarters. New ones are added every day.

Went all over town this weekend, saw Prii everywhere. I think a big shipment most have arrived. Seaside Pearl and Driftwood rule, but I saw sme white ones, too. Three in the lot when I got to work this morning.
