The Prius of your dreams

    While the liftback body style of the Prius may offer the best compromise between usability and aerodynamics, it doesn't necessarily meet everybody's needs and desires. So I was wondering, if you could have a second Prius drivetrain installed in any body you want, which body would you choose - and would you buy that in preference over the Prius III body?

    Personally, I enjoy the Prius most on slow country roads, so I would go for the Morgan Roadster. Or the Mercedes SLK. Or the Lotus Elise. Or the Peugeot 406 Coupe. Can't decide...

    If someone would build a Honda Fit (or something with at least as much cargo space) that got 50 mpg, I'd be first in line to buy. The Prius provides excellent utility overall, but the Fit still has about 50% more space.

    I was hoping GM would make a usable Saturn Vue Hybrid, to replace my Subaru Forester, but they never came close. Some small hybrid station wagon would be nice.

    I like the hatchback design. It'd be even better with a second Prius drivetrain powering the rear wheels. :)

    A Lotus Exige would be cool, but what I'd really like is one of these:

    Among others, a 1927 Ford with all of the drive train, etc., hidden from view and the original engine, that runs but doesn't actually power the car, when it would traditionally sit.

    I would have fun having the hood open and the car driving around with people trying to figure out how that is happening.

    Oh they made it, I drove it. But it wasn't a production car.

    I'd like an MR2 hybrid, but I don't know that it would really be practical for me.
    Maybe a 2 speed reduction box and a towing capability would be a good thing. I'd like to be able to tow a small trailer with my Prius.

    The steering geometry is all wrong! I don't think that would be very good to ride, I could be mistaken, but I doubt it. It has much too steering head angle, the front wheel should be further ahead of the steering head given the angle of the steering head. Looks pretty though.
