Still getting used to the new ride. My iPhone when connected via BT always makes me say 'hello' twice before the caller can hear me. Any ideas as to how to have it connect on the first hello? I do not have it set to auto-answer. I use the controls on the steering wheel or the nav-screen. Either way, it takes 2. Help? please. tks

Hi Bricor, Welcome to PriusChat. I'm not sure I can answer your question because of unknown differences. Do you have the JBL upgrade audio and/or the Navigation system? And, I'm not in Southern Calif.

I have a Prius IV, with Navigation and JBL, and a iPhone 3GS. I have not experienced any different delay then I experienced prior to buying my Prius or when I use my iPhone unrelated to my car. I assume there is some sort of latency, or delay, connecting your phone through the cars BT, to your callers. I have experienced a latency using my iPhone with a BT headset; not in my car. I figured the issues were with the AT&T network here in the Denver, CO metropolitan area. Good luck --TK

Congratulations on your purchase of a very nice vehicle. I purchased mine about one month ago, and have one word of caution for you - LEARN.

The Prius is a complex machine that has many interesting and useful features. Right after I began driving it one fact became obvious - I was not being a safe driver. More than once I found myself wandering across the centerline because I was paying too much attention to the display and the buttons.

After I realized what I was doing (luckily no accident occurred), it became clear that I had to LEARN more about this vehicle BEFORE someone got killed. So out came the manuals, and more attention was paid to helpful comments in this forum.

Keeping eyes on the road is a must.

TK, yes I do have the JPL upgrade. My phone is the 3g. No problems in my last vehicle using the Parrot BT system (with AT&T).

I checked gg's link referencing this pblm, thanks. I'll do some research on my own as well as monitor the board. Thanks all for your quick reply-posts.

Any picture of the V with those chrome wheels? I am interested in seeing how chrome wheels look on Prius III? :)

    Bricor,

Congrats on your purchase! You should join the SoCal Prius club on here (shameless plug :))... haha.

As for your issue with the delay, I also have the JBL system with an iPhone 3G, and I've experienced the delay. So... whenever I answer calls, I just usually wait about 2 seconds after hitting the answer button before saying hello. Seems to work fine for me.

    SF,

So sorry for the really tardy reply. I updated my personal icon - but it doesn't really show the wheels that well. I'll give it a bath and take some pics this weekend and post them. Take care.
