    stopped off at a Discount tire shop to have some air put in the light came on showing low,the guy said the tires are looking worn and need to be replaced soon. I have about 35,000 miles on them does that sound about right? anf if so any advice on replacements :) Thanks 2008 Prius

    Yes, it's quite possible that the stock tires need replacing by 35,000 miles. There is a thread here:

    which lists the results from Tire Rack's comparison of tires on a Gen II Prius.

    I got a set of Ecopias and am very happy with them. I also increased the tire pressure to 42/40. So it's hard to know what's due to the new tires and what's due to the changed tire pressure, but it's been immediately clear that:

    The ride is quieter
    The car grips the road better, especially in turns and steep curves
    Mileage went up about 3 mpg
    Small bumps in the road surface are felt more clearly (probably due to the increased tire pressure)
