im planning to buy a sofa at ikea when i get back home (im currently in CA) and there's no way i would be able to measure it till i get home and i dont know how to measure it just by looking at the factory dimensions. anyways, here's the measurement

    Width:35 3/8" in
    Height:15 3/4" in
    Length:70 7/8" in
    Weight:109lb

    Thanks!

I'm not sure what your question is. Are you asking if it would fit in your Prius? If you have the dimensions of your sofa, why can't you measure the car/hatch opening to see if it will fit?

I guess you mean that you don't have the car with you and you can't measure the car -- not the sofa!

    It will probably fit.

I just measured the cargo space in my Prius. I got 69-1/2" from the back of the driver's seat to the hatch, 39" across the narrow portion of the cargo area, and 23" from the floor to the top of the hatch opening.

You may have to move the front seats forward by an inch or so to accomodate the sofa. Also, the back of the console might be in the way, but it may slip under the legs of the sofa.

    Good luck.

It will not fit because of the slope of the rear hatch. If you measure the legnth 15" up from the base of the cargo area you will find its a lot shorter than the base.

thanks! i guess ill measure it when i get home tomorrow. the panels on the back might be on the way since the sofa is still pack, there's no way i could slip it under the legs.
