    Hi all,
Thanks for all the information that everyone supply about Prius.
I would like to buy a Prius in CT. I have read that there are son benefits. Someone told me that there are no sales tax for the Prius before 2008 but now there are. Is it truth?
Are there any other benefit to buy an hybrid in CT?
Also, I would like that someone that bought in CT a Prius 2010 recommend me a Dealer nerbay New Haven and a good price to have a reference.
    Thanks in advance.
    :p

There is a sales tax deduction for new vehicles purchased between February 17, 2009 through December 31, 2009. (I see no exception for CT, so you're good to go - but check with your accountant if you want some extra reassurance).

    Check out link-
Sales Tax Deduction for Vehicle Purchases

I'm not sure if dealerships are offering very many deals yet. I purchased mine in August and paid MSRP like may other buyers who bought in July and August.

Build your Toyota at Toyota Cars, Trucks, SUVs & Accessories will help you figure out MSRP for the model you are looking for.

no federal deduction for prius (there is a deduction for buying any new cars on taxes you pay)

any cars over 40mpg in CT pays no sales tax. I bought mine without it.

Thanks so much for the answer.
Is that means that you don't pay sales tax (i.e 6%)?
Or that you get your money back after fill the tax return?
Any dealership that you can recommend me?
    Thanks in advance.

I bought mine from Lorensen in Old Saybrook. Paid MSRP. Paid tax on extras only - no tax on the car itself.

You don't pay tax at all, no need to do returns. I paid $22995 MSRP+$350 fees+$169 VIN Itch+$95 title transfer.

I would stay away from Wallingford, Hartford and the Toyota in Avon. To be honest with you, all Toyota dealerships blow. I paid MSRP for mine at Stephens in Bristol, they were acceptable. I still ended up getting shafted with some $169 VIN itch fee even though they never told me up front.

The best price I got was a place called Ira Toyota in the MA/CT border. They were willing to deal one for $350 below sticker and only have $250 in fees.

Thanks so much for the answer. I went this morning to check the prices to the dealerships around, and the fees change a lot between them, I have found a range between 300-500$. But they are no so transparent...

Just be careful before you leave your deposit, Toyota dealers are very shady. Email the guys at Ira, deal with the internet department.
