About a week after I bought my 2010, a rock hopped up on my hood and chipped the paint on four spots. I took care of three of them with touch up paint, but the fourth is too deep to fix myself. So happy I only have a $50 deductable, buy being without my car for almost a week will be tough.

Sorry to hear about your rock damage but if you think that's bad I just

drive until the Dr. releases me to drive and I don't see him again until
    Nov. the 13th ! I can't even ride in a vehicle for 2-3 weeks.

    Hi Lawboy:

Quick question: what colour is your 2010 Toyota Prius? Your avatar is showing Blizzard Pearl and if that is your colour I have heard that it is very difficult to match.

If it is indeed Blizzard Pearl could you take a before and after picture. I am curious on how it will turn out. Down the road I am sure I will have to deal with the same thing......unfortunately!

    Thanks in advance......

It is Bizzard Pearl, and the manager at the local shop doing the repair made me aware of the problem with color matching. He said it could likely be fixed by repainting just the hood itself, but sometimes requires one of the front/side panels to be redone as well. It is a very well-respected shop here in town, and I am confident they will make it work. They did some work on my friends Cadillac STS with a similar pearl paint, and you could not tell that any work had been done.

    Fingers crossed ;)

Well, that was quick. Got a call from the body shop to pick up my car. Looks good as new, and they did not have to repaint any of the other panels. Paint blended perfectly. I'll try to snap some pics this weekend if the weather permits.

i have a horrible experience here, still trying to figure out what to do. my blizzard pearl was hit on the rear bumper in a parking lot (hit and run) and had a small dent in it. i brought it to the toyota dealer in berkeley, ca to fix, they replaced the whole plastic bumper & repainted it. first round took 10 days, multiple tries, even had a paint factory guy came out to help. when they called me in to pick up, the color was too dark. so they asked me to come back in a week.
this second time, again they had a paint guy come out for 2 days, and today, 3 days later, i was called to come & pick up again, and the bumper is too light/white. i just drove the car home today, and have no idea what to do now. they said it's a difficult color and they tried, the only option left is have the insurance guy come out again and try to convince them to pay for blending the upper part to match w/ the bumper.
anyone have any experience on this? what can I possibly do at this point?

If your insurance is already involved with this, I would definitely have them send someone come out and look at the problem. If you have paid for comprehensive coverage, it includes fixing your car in a way that the paint matches. Merely spraying some white-ish paint on the bumper and calling it a day is not why you pay insurance premiums.
