Oh I don't know about that. My door is far sturdier that a lot of the beer can sheet metal stock doors that I have seen. I could put my foot through one of those in about 5 sec! It would take me about 3 minutes to cut the cheap aluminiun away from the lock and enter.

If you adjust the springs properly, well like mine are I can use 1 finger to open it up!

Yes it does swing out, so what, it all hides when its in the up position. I also have a 3/4 open setting where the door acts as a sun shade while I am working on my projects!

And as far as thin and uninsulated, well 2x4 ans 1x6 tongue and groove makes for a damn sturdy door. Insulation, HaHa, Its California Dude, not necessary!!!

Yes, We do! Some garages don't have the clearance necessary for the sectional doors. Here's a photo of one of our recent jobs.

I'm not convinced those are just Photoshopped pictures but they're pretty brilliant.

I used to have one. I thought it was called a California door. I even had mine hooked up to an electric opener/closer. When installed properly and kept in alignment, they are simple and easy to operate. I think the biggest potential for problems is if the large one piece door decides to warp.
