One more stupid question - if I don't need glass breaker sensor, do I still need VIP rs3200.

I would like the alarm goes on when someone open the door (without the remote) or bump into my car (motion). let's say that someone break the window, he/she will open the door, at that time I want the alarm goes on. What do I need for this scenario ?

    Thank you

Sounds like you do NEED the glass breakage sensor because that is what it does. The VIP RS3200 comes with the glass breakage sensor inside the alarm, it can't be taken off. Its like you want the ipod touch without the ipod function. It comes with the systems.

I had my car broken into within a couple of months of purchase, so I had the RS3200 Plus installed at the dealer. I was given the instruction booklet, but in order to set up the "passive arming," I must put my key into the ignition. I do not have an ignition key site, just a button. The dealer hasn't been particularly helpful with this, so can someone tell me the steps to passively arm the alarm without that? Thanks!

The proper RS3200 alarm for the 2010 Prius also includes the glass breakage sensor. Assuming you have the correct one installed, passive arming starts after you close the doors and lock them. There should be a little security system light installed in a blank hole in the dash near the dimmer switch. This light will come on to indicate arming of the system. Once it goes off, the system is armed. This is called passive arming. Also, if you unlock the car, but never open the doors, after a delay, the doors will lock and the alarm will rearm. Since you mentioned that the instructions received said you needed to insert the key fob(there is no hole for it in the 2010)prehaps they installed the wrong version for you vehicle??

I had the VIP RS3200+ alarm installed in my 2013 Prius. I went shopping today and when I came out, the alarm was going off, so I assume someone bumped into the window and activated it. My problem is that I couldn't figure out how to shut the alarm off immediately. Pressing the UNLOCK button on my fob, as indicated in the manual, did nothing immediately -- the alarm shut off only after the full 60 seconds. Am I missing something here?
