Installed 5/19. $505 total for the 195/65R15 size. $120 in rebates also sent in.

MPG-wise, it looks like I lose maybe 5-10% on sideroads, and 5% on the highway. 46.7MPG getting back from a fillup 70 miles away. I have noticed that I slow down faster rolling down to my house, but either it will get better as the tires break in or I'll learn to live with safer tires.

No chance to test the traction control issues yet, where I used to ALWAYS get slowed down trying to pull out of a parking lot with the wheel turned to either side. Really solid feel pulling straight away from stop signs, though.

THey forgot to put the trim rings back on, and I barely noticed. Just thought things looked odd. When they asked if I wanted them back, I decided they did look better on. New, classier wheels are more than the savings on the tires, so maybe someday...

I'm not familiar with the tires you bought, but....

Give the tread some time to break in BEFORE you blame the tires on gas mileage. NEW tires of ANY kind will cost a few MPG's before the tread breaks in.

i bought goodyear tt 10000miles ago...excellent tire...used them this last winter...much better on traction and in snow and on wet pavement...with 10k miles on them now...i see very little "resistance" on rolling to a stop ... the original integrity, which are worthless when it rains...i got rid of ...so give the tt a few miles and you'll be fine...my overall mpg is around 52 in the warmer wx...and thats with mixed driving...

The stock tires have worked just fine for me under all driving conditions and it seems they'll last at least 40,000 miles. It looks like every other tire reported in this forum decreases mpgs and increases noise, so I see little point in "upgrading"the tires.

Stock tires were extremely noisy and harsh, especially on poorly maintained roads (which would be 99% of all Chicago roads). I prefer a hard ride, but had to replace the stock tires so my teeth wouldn't fall out. The Comfortreads are much smoother and quieter, and much better handling on wet roads. Dry roads are better too, but the stock tires did OK for dry handling, I thought.

For the same price as the Integretys, there are safer, better handling choices available. (Goodrich T/A & Kumhos, for example)

Today I stomped on the gas to get out into traffic when stopped at a parking lot exit, and while the tires made a quick squealing sound there was no traction control hinderance to slow me down. Old tires would have been silent while slipping.

MPGs down to 45.5 average (no, I made only one squealing-type start, thank you very much...)

Great price on your Triple Treads, Mike. I just got a set of Goodyear "Assurance" comfort treads for about $10 more than you spent, but I will get a $40 rebate. The Triple Treads were $35 per tire more.
I find the new tires quieter, definitely a smoother ride, and the steering feel is much, much improved. I can't tell about the milage because our temperatures just took a jump to the low 90's, so I started running my air conditioner the same day I put the new tires on.
I was very unhappy with the steering feel of the stock tires, and am extremely glad I took a chance and spent the money for the Comfort Treads.

My MPGs have settled in at 44. Little higher here, little lower there, but staying just around 44. That'll do for now...

Our Prius is coming in next week. I'm planning on driving it directly to a Goodyear dealer and swapping out the tires for Comfortreads. We live on a hill in snow country and I have no confidence in the OEM tires based on many comments on this and other boards.

I called 3 dealers yesterday and 2 of them were willing to do the exchange for $200 total. That includes mounting and balancing.

    Sound like a good deal?

$200 is what it cost me to upgrade from the OEM tires to the Goodyear Comfortreds, including mounting and balancing. My dealer even dropped the Prius off at the tire shop before picking me up at the airport (I had to fly 400 miles to get the car I wanted at the price I wanted), so it was ready to go when I got there. I have about 1000 miles on the Comfortreds and am getting just over 50 mpg (70% highway). The tires are smooth and quiet.

I'm with beacher! getting my car any day now! Live in the same type of terrain (ski areas near by my home). May keep the orig tires thru the summer until changing them.

Are the Comfortreds a LRR tire?

how many miles are they rated for?

    thanks fellow pri-ers

Here is the link on Tire Rack for the Comfortred:

I picked it mostly by reading comments in various threads here and on Priusonline.

Happy news. After investing in my first-ever alignment, and /or a few tanks of good gas, I've gotten back to nearly my old MPGs. A 17-mile trip from a fill-up Friday read 51.4MPG when I parked, yesterday a 80+ mile road trip ended at 48.6, and today's driving around getting groceries landed back at 48.2 after dipping to at least 47.8.

If I can float around 48MPG around here, that's as good as I ever averaged on the OEM tires...

I've got about 500 miles on my Comfortreads now. My last tank of gas was about half with air conditioner running and half without, and calculated out to 48+ mpg, which was almost exactly what I was getting with the stock tires and no air conditioner. My current tank of gas is running at 50+mpg right now, so I would have to say that I actually gained milage by going to the Comfortreads.
