I'm not aware of any connection, though I do know that the MFD's on the 2004 and 2005 Priuses had problems and had to be replaced more often than intended. That is one reason they changed the MFD a little bit in the 2006-2009.

I would contact DICE Electronics directly if you continue to have problems and you think it's associated with the DICE. But to answer your question, I have not heard of any problems with MFD failures and the DICE unit.
