Part 6 : (Go to the bot. & read in reverse order---there must be an easier way to do private mail here).

Our auction at Southern is for dealers only & I've seen some carrying plates from Delaware & from some mid-western states too). It must cost a fortune to have them transported them back home to be sold. END

      Part 5 :

By the way, did you really come all the way to the Hartford area for that auction? I know Copart says they take internet bids, but you said you saw the key-fobs tie-wrapped to the car. Why do dealers travel so for away to buy cars? I've heard about other car auctions in Ohio & PA.

So the experiences I was relating are as apply to "Southern", NOT Copart. Sorry about the troubles with your Prius from Copart. It certainly sounds like something is going on there with their security or operations that needs to be looked into by management so others don't get burned the way you did.

      Part 3 :

I work in East Windsor, CT at Southern Auto Sales/Auction. We have one location with 20 auction lanes & have also sold 5,000 cars on our one auction day a week (when the economy & car business were better). Most cars are sold in person at the lanes, but they also take internet bids (I must confess I don't know how that works in real time while there are bids coming from the floor in the lanes).

      Part 2 :

I didn't know what Copart was (I don't work for them) until I did a search. They are in New Britain, CT (a suburb city near Hartford, CT) and according to their website, have 135 locations in the USA (150, if you include elsewhere around the world) and sell about 5,000 cars a week total.

      jtuchol,

Since I just saw your post on my profile page, I decided to try for the first time to respond the same way on yours (kind of like a private e-mail instead of on the open forums). I just found out I must do 420 characters or less for each post done this way, but I'm not going to stop & count them, so I'm just going to break this response up into smaller individual posts.
