Hi George - we left Friday afternoon, but stayed in Eau Claire, WI, then drove the remainder on Saturday and the road was mostly clear until we hit the WI/ IL Border which had received 8".

Performance of my L-5 varies substantially as I drive about 70-75 miles of interstate every day getting as little as 45 mpg to a high of 57 mpg driving 65 - 67 mph. My lower-speed travels are substantially better. The first week was below zero nonsense, which didn't help as I like a little heat (hence gas engine) in my Prius !

I am tracking mileage daily and find if I can keep it under 60 mph, I can do substantially better, but I'll likely get killed travelling I-55 at that speed !! I'm planning on switching back to a low rolling resistance tire for spring/ summer as I took a 4 -5 mpg hit going with Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grids - excellent winter performance, however.

I'm finding PriusChat pretty difficult to navigate and hard to find the stuff that I want - oh well, but I'm new at it.

Did you drive back in that Fri. nite snow storm? It was really bad by the time we got to Chicago area, heading for arlington Hts.

Haven't driven since Tue. as it's so cold. Can't wait til Sat. when it warms up to over 20 F.

When I drove, though, it still was bad first 5 minutes <25 mpg, then next 5 min.about 50 mpg, after that > 99.9! Is that about what you're finding?
