I think the SD card you got may have software updates - for the Toyota models mentioned in the Amazon listing. You can browse SD card, check whether it has any 16TABDNA-AA01_1004.kwi or 16TABDNA-AA02_3004.kwi Otherwise, if you buy the TIS Professional membership, you can download updates for all your family and friends Toyota vehicles :)
Thanks for the info. Will have to get a microSD to usb reader. Haven't given up yet. When I added the new card things worked briefly then everything froze, includng info for songs playing via bluetooth from my Iphone. Very weird
Two years ago I updated my software to AA01_1004. The dealer wanted $120. So it was cheaper for me to buy a 2 day Professional membership to download the update for my Prime. https://techinfo.snapon.com/TIS/Register.aspx
That's a bummer :( You can read this Toyota bulletin and make a guess whether a software update will help or not. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10214352-9999.pdf You can press the buttons menu -> settings -> general -> software update -> update and it should show your present software. Whether you have the AA01 R10Axxxx or AA02 R20Axxxx
I've successfully used the 0e075 (2023) and 0e076 (2024) SD cards on 2017 11 inch Denso. Chose the cheapest vendor from Amazon. The thing to note is to ignore any initial error messages, when you first turn on the car with the new SD card. Persist turning on the car a few times and it should then work just like the original SD card. Waiting for 2025 0e077 to be under $20 :) Good luck!
@drizzle Thank you for the information. I found a 2025 0e077 for $24 on amazon. Will report back if it works in my 2020 Prime Limited.
Installed the new 2025 map micro SD into my 2020 Prime Limited. After overcoming the initial read error (doing a restart). The map freezes up so I do not feel it is compatible with my model and year.
