        Turn rollers upside down, piece of plywood on top of rollers, slide/roll battery in and out of prius easily.

      Just had to replace a bad module, battery #6 of 28. The Permatex 09128 Copper Anti-Seize Lubricant seems to be doing an excellent job.

      tried purchasing cheap Hybrid battery in June. Keeping it cool & driving by voltage keeps it going.

        Keeping temp below 90 F helps it a lot. Keeping pack voltage between 220 to 235 seems the best range for strengthening batteries

      Visiting family on East coast, a sister gave me a 2005 Prius with 91k on it. Seems to be running well. Suggestions as I drive it to CA?

      Reinstalled it, drove a short 4 miles and it seemed fine. Had only been getting 40 mpg at best prior, got 53 mpg on short test.

        After Intake manifold, EGR and cooler cleaning am getting a nice city mileage around 55 mpg, but highway and/or hills is more like 44mpg...I do see one more suspect battery pack and still getting code for battery pack needing replacement though it's overall behaving much better. If I had a nice garage would invest in an cheap cherry picker to help move battery in and out of vehicle

        Ended up re threading both of some terminals and nuts. Used m5 .8 on both. Also discovered what I think is the best cleaner for the nickel coated copper nuts, WD40 lithium grease cleans them great. Don't use vinegar, it will eat the nickel off.

      The modules I suspected by noticing there voltages fall faster are definitely on the weak side.

        Just doing a fast load check doesn't work. The discharge rate needs to be examined and then further tested for those modules discharging faster than .01 volts per 3 seconds. If it's discharging faster than .01 volts per 2 seconds it's highly suspect even at .01 v per 3 secs it should get at least a 10 minute discharge watching for sharp decline, if it stays near or above 7 volts for 20 minutes it should be good

      Load testing modules, how long you run a load test on a module?

        Started with 7.8 volts with a 12 volt headlight load. After 23 minutes it is still at 7.05. It's taking between 2 to 3 minutes to drop another .01 volts

        Looking around found on http://www.hybrids.co.nz/ that a range of 40 to 75 minutes is an extensive test to make sure of the quality of a battery's strength values. The quick test on my original modules seems to indicate they're all still 'good'. But did notice some that seemed to start dropping more quickly than others, so will go back to do more intensive tests on the ones that drop voltage faster
