Removing the O-ring in the handle FIXED the problem of pushing the charge cable into the PIP.
Yeah- remove the "O" ring with a pick/probe tool (unplug EVSE from wall first please). Most new EVSE handles don't even come with the troublesome...
the orange "O" ring can be removed and the problem is solved.....
sometimes the o ring dislodges and gets caught. look closely with a light to make sure the thumb latch is released. if not, try prying under it....
I heard the fix the dealers do is to remove the rubber o ring.
IIRC, some have removed an O ring to make the connection easier?

Went to the dealer because I cannot plug the charger into the outlet anymore. Turns out the O ring is damaged and they cannot order that part....
There is a big o-ring in the charging Handel it may not be in correctly. If so reinstall or remove if this is the problem.
Many of us have removed the o-ring and get along just fine without it, even in the rain.
