The computed estimated range on EV automatically drops with any usage of the fan and it the same for fan only, fan+heat or fan+AC. Mike
#2 is normal. #1 is not. Did you turn on AC or fan? That can drop the displayed EV range.
AC off in this case means the whole climate control system is off. Even if you have AC off, but the fan on, it'll display the lower EV range.
I drove home one day with the fan on the whole way (3 "bars") and AC on for about half my commute. Although my drive home is riddled with stop...
I realized today that if I turn off the ventilation system completely, my EV range goes up by 1.2 miles. It does not seem to matter whether the...
The Prius assums that you'll keep the AC on. So it calculates/estimates the electric draw over the next 1? miles and subtract that from the...
My estimated EV range immediately drops by over 10% when I turn on the fan, with or without the A/C, so how could it not be affecting EV range?...
Ok, so I drove home today with the fan on the whole way. I played around with the AC during the stop lights to observe the change in current from...
Again, my point is that when you turn anything on in Climate Control, the estimate goes down identically. Fan full blast? Fan on low? A/C on?...
I suspect it's a rather crude and probably pessimistic estimation, as it seems to reduce the EV range by the same amount regardless of fan speed...
Yeah, this has been brought up a few times. It looks like if you simply turn on the fan (with AC or without), your EV range estimate will drop by...
It’s a technical question of interest and has little or no practical value. The estimated values matter little - just curious if others had seen...
I tried the fan tonight, heat and AC off, and it did drop like a rock, yet a few days ago I had it on for my whole trip and still got 12 EV range.
Simply having the fan on (AC on or off) will decrease your EV range ESTIMATE by about 10%. I've only tested it once, but I made my commute with...
I know I seem to be alone in this request, but when posting estimated EV range, could everyone PLEASE specify whether the Climate Control (even...
I've done this "test" a few times.. but when I first got my car, I never drove with AC or Fan to get more EV range. When it started to heat up, I...
After charging place car in READY and then look at the Estimated Miles for EV. Then push the OFF button for the heater /AC system to get the fan...
You know that if your climate control fan is on, it will drop the EV range estimate too, right? Your explanation of 11 something miles the day...
((Hits himself in the head for not thinking of that.)) Of course, you're right. It worked. Back to showing an 11.0 EV range on full charge. Thanks.
Fan on low, no A/C draws 100 watts. Fan on medium, no A/C is 200W. Fan on Max, no A/C is 300W. Adding in use of the A/C adds 300W to 400W...
