Yeah, the "Made in the USA" aspect was giving me the same doubts. Thanks for the help, everyone.
It has outside plastic threads on both ends, and the bottom end has a plastic collar screwed onto the plastic threads. I don't see any inside threads.
It's 4 inches long and 3/4 of an inch wide. There are no springs; those are plastic threads.
