Bought an 05 prius last year & this is exactly right. Any cost saving on fuel for a Prius will be eaten up quickly if you don't DIY.
The only thing that worked on our Gen 8 Accord was valvoline restore & protect.
Only owned ours for a year and it does the same. Previous owner said it had done that for years. Keep it. Too many good things about these cars...
