05 prius hv battery probs

    Hey let me start off by saying first post but ty all for the info anyway i have a 05 prius 242k has ran great since i purchased but lately i have been getting the triangle and check and vsc lights code it brings up is p3016 so i ripped the battery apart and every module seems ok 7.7-7.9 my question is could i have a prob in the harness when it throws the lights ill clear them each day and runs150-200 miles any help greatly appreciated

    try just clearing the code and see what comes back later. You can clear the code(s) by disconnecting the 12v negative for a few seconds. If P3016 comes back, then something in that block is an issue.

    Yea i have been clearin the codes for a week now and always same one p3016 block 6 or 7 but after i clear like i said runs good until it sits overnight.so it could still be in the module of 6 or 7 even if they read 7.7 also when i clear codes and drive it hv battery stays charged and acts normal

    welcome! if you're going to keep it and diy, invest in the mini vci, and learn how to properly balance the battery. all the best!(y)

    Changed the cell 6 (i think) looking from the back i went from right to left still gettin the code also cleaned all connections good dont know where to go from here still throwin p3016

    The 1st block is counted from the side the ecu is not on.

    Yes. Also, a block is composed of two modules. Hence a problem with block 6 means that modules 11 or 12 have a problem.

    Both 11 and 12 module was reading fine so i swapped them all out diff spots and hopefully this time i can tell if it throws a diff code it will not be in 6 block so maybe i got the right one out no codes yet but i did run it earlier and cleared the p3016 twice so after it sets tonight if history repeats itself and the other module is bad it should give me a diff code thx for all the help guys
