Awesome, thanks for the link! My ebrochure is printing out as I type this; I'll have a jolly 30 minutes or so looking it over in detail. :D

I couldn't find the 8 year, 100,000 mile warrantee on the battery. Did I miss it? Is it covered under the Federal Emission Coverage? I did see that, "[11] Hybrid vehicle battery expected life is 150,000 miles based on laboratory bench testing"

And notice they shorten the California Emission Coverage from 10yr/150k miles for 05 to 7yr/70k miles for 06. I believe the emission coverage include the hybrid components according to the 2005 Prius warranty info booklet.

That's good to see, but why isn't Sirius also listed? We all know that both integrate well into the Prius! :D

I think that's a contractual thing with Toyota. I remember an ad after they entered an agreement that soon XM would be available on all (or most, I don't remember exactly) Toyota vehicles.

JBL makes that head unit for everyone, thus the compatibility with both Sirius and XM--some other car maker may use the same head unit but have a contract with Sirius.

Here is the press release from Sirius:

"SIRIUS Satellite Radio Hardware Available for More Toyota and Lexus Models
Beginning August 1, 2005, SIRIUS Hardware is Available for the Toyota Avalon and 2006 Lexus GS 300/430

NEW YORK, Aug 01, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- SIRIUS Satellite Radio (Nasdaq: SIRI) today announced that SIRIUS hardware is available as both a dealer and post-production option (port installed) for the 2005 Toyota Avalon and the 2006 Lexus GS 300/430.

    (LOGO: NewsCom: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19991118/NYTH125 )

The MSRP for the SIRIUS hardware post-production option is expected to be $449 on the Avalon and $486 on the Lexus GS 300/430. With the addition of these two models, SIRIUS will be available nationwide on 11 vehicles from Toyota, Scion and Lexus.

SIRIUS is currently available for the following models:

    - 2005 Lexus LS 430 and Lexus ES 330
    - 2006 Lexus LX 470
    - 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser
    - 2005 Toyota Camry
    - 2005 and 2006 Toyota Solara (including Solara Convertible)
    - 2005 Scion xA and Scion xB
    - 2005 and 2006 Scion tC"

I guess the Prius just isn't included in this program even though it supports the Sirius tuner.

Personally, I like having one of the portable units, to move from the cars to my motorcycles. The Kenwood unit I have works with one subscription, and I can use it in more than one location, including my office. Since the '06 models are coming with an input for your favorite mp3 player, you can use the same input for the XM/Sirius unit as well.

    Enjoy,
    Randal

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Priusland!
I really think all of you are great and so helpful (and so very patient). I appreciate your tolerance helping rookies like me with the situations we find ourselves. I have yet to get the 2006 Prius but look forward with both excitement and some hesitation with the new way of driving. The technology is a bit intimidating for me and it's going to be a big change moving from an 02 Tundra V8 Truck to the new world of Prius.
I got another call from Dublin (CA) Toyota saying my car is in Longbeach port awaiting release/transport. The scheduled delivery date is set for the first or second week of December. I ordered a Barcelona Red with all the trimmings (gobble, gobble) #8 and was hoping for the beige leather. The sales guy says it going to be the dark grey. Not sure I want that but the wait is going to be tooooo long for the other color interior. He is going to call me in 2 weeks with the VIN and confirm the order.
Have a great holiday and be safe out on the roads.

    :D Hello,

I am brand new to this site and just placed my order for my 06. I called Toyota directly about the warranty and was assured they still have the 8 year, 100,00 mile warranty on the Hybrid components.

    Hope this helps

Great link, thanks! My new 06 will be in the first week of January (they think) and I'm really looking forward to it.
