Just got out of work today less then 1 week after purchasing my 2007 Toyota pruis with less then 100k miles on it from a Toyota dealer and that was what my self test got on the 12v battery. I asked the dealer to check the battery and of course they said they did and it was fine but I think not. Shopping around I see a few choices 1 is the optima for 200.00 minus the 50 bucks from auto-zone. My other choice is an ad delco battery from work. Waitign for the rpice and warranty info on that one. I also plan on calling the dealer back and seeing what can be done their but...as I work at a mitsu dealer I already know how the call will go.
I am curious as to how long it has to live?
The optima will take a few days as well as the ac-delco one. For now I have a jump box awaiting its calling in the back.

Could use a good charging and get a few more weeks out of it. Put it on a 2 amp charge and see how long it takes.
Then do it again 2 days later and see if that time frame improves.
Probably not at 10.1 as that means pretty good sulphation but won't cost you anything.

Btw, if you get a Optima make sure you check its voltage at the counter before you walk off with it. If its another 10.1 ask for a fresher battery. Reports of dead Optima's right off the shelf. No matter what put that new battery on your charger when you get it home.

The good news is you mileage is really going to improve with a new battery.

Just buy the Optima, install it yourself! It's simple, I did it, others have done it, simple!

I got the optima a few days back had one of my techs install it (perk of workign at a dealer) for free. Got the deal at advanced auto parts for 202.00 with a 50 dollar off deal. Installed easy enough i do need to cut the strap off though.
On a side note i received an e-mail from the dealership asking me how the service was and i replied great and listed my two concerns. First was the cut seat belt that they have on order and 2nd was the battery. The dealer wrote back and said just bring in the reciept and they will take care of it. Sweet service so far! Alot better then my current dealership i can tell you that much.
