Is this a request, or a comment? If it's a request, I don't get the significance of the links. If it's a comment, there's only 3 links, so where are the remaining 2-7 reasons?

A couple off the top of my head:
    • Amazing car for the money. You're getting a lot of features you'd find only in a more expensive car, right at the base level.
This was one of Motor Trends biggest arguments regarding the Prius being Car of the Year last year.
    • Gas mileage is excellent.
    • Plenty of storage with a hatchback.
    • Simple to drive. It works the same as any car, with the exception of turning it on and off.
    • Low emissions. Yeah, a bicycle's better, but it's not a practical solution for most of us in the U.S.
    • While we can't say for sure, the reknowned Toyota durability seems to have passed to the Prius, too. There are reasons to think that the way the Prius ICE runs (generally either off, or running full speed) will make it particularly long-lived.
    • If you're a geek (or a geek like me, anyway), the HSD is just amazing. A thing of beauty...

If you are into fast cars and the like, there are probably no convincing reasons for you.

...but, if you are looking for a practical car that is the most cleanest to the environment, gets great gas mileage and quite hi-tech, let the reasons begin. :)

    1) the environment (it's our only home, why spoil it?)
    2) the dependence on foreign oil (this has been a hot topic, I won't delve further for now)
    3) the fun factor (man, it's just cool to drive)
    4) the roominess/hatchback (so versatile, I don't miss my 2-door Pathfinder)
    5) the goodies/high-tech (top-o-the-line model has Bluetooth, navigation, and voice recogntion)
    6) the price (base price under 21K)
    7) the quickness (not speed per se, but swift)
    8) Stealth mode (all electrical at low speeds = zero emissions)
    9) Car of the Year 2004 (probably because of all the above)
    10) Get others to care about their consumption (really goes back to 1 and 2)

Other reasons abound, but are harder to put into print (feeling of doing the right thing, etc.)

    Love my Prius!

Since the Prius appeals to most of us here for such varied reasons and noting you just joined us today I have a suggestion for you which worked for me:
Have a thorough search of PriusChat in all the nooks and crannies where you will find a treasure trove of information. If you are still not convinced by that time and need ten/five reasons to make up your mind I would be very much surprised.
Hope you do take the plunge and buy the Prius.
