actually that depends on which definition we choose to use. if using the one that says the moon must revolve around a planet, the number is less. but that is why i say "about" since the show i saw detailing these 95 moons admits that there were probably more that we havent seen yet. as it was, several moons of Saturn (the most popoulous moon planet) were previously thought to be asteroids and not part of the Saturn orbit. better technology has disapproved that. im sure time, serendipity and patience will reveal more moons to dream about

You must mean "contenental" U.S. because actually, it's ALASKA ... which because of it's width, carries over to the far east, thus my fact:
