Also did 2-3 stints of leaving the car on for 20-30 minutes and not moving for the air conditioning (baby needed to sleep while we went and did stuff)

    Am I on track?

Your milage seem a little low but not strangely so.

    I don't do 77 mph regurarly
If you do a lot of short "5 minute" city trips it could explain it. I tend to do a few short trips during the weekend (groceries, dog park, errands) and it really kills my mileage

You left a baby in the car alone?

F8L, look at their avatar, the baby had a bottle of milk with him, so the baby was not alone! :)

Yes - she was in line of sight of us. (about 10 feet through a window)

I was fairly certain that she would be just fine.

Seems normal for the speed you were doing. It takes quite a bit more fuel to go 77mph vs 60mph.

Wow that graph shows a SHARP drop over 65mph!

So doing 75 instead of 65 will make your mileage drop a lot!

Makes sense. It sounded much worse in your original post though. lol

I sympathathize with the low milage. I doubt your weight is influencing much. I have aftermarket wheels and another 120lbs worth of stereo equipment in the car so we should even back out. I am goig to guess your speed is playing a big part according to the data I've seen. Maybe times yourself on a normal commute and see what kind of time difference there is between 77mph and 65mph. Maybe if the time difference is small enough it will give you more incentive to slow down some. I know it worked for me and now I cringe when I have to go faster than 65mph because of the flow of traffic.

My much shorter 140-mile trip from northeast Baltimore to Southwest DC on I-95 pulsing and gliding between 65 and 78 mph with the A/C set to low and 78 F with 46/44 psi gave me 50mpg yesterday.

So I think your experience is relatively similar.
