I took a chance and bought a used 2007 prius with 184k on it. Ive replaced the 12 V battery, ignition coils, spark plugs and the inverter coolant pump this last week. Whenever I drive for a 5 minute period or even shorter if its hot out, the HV battery seems to disengage and only the ICE is powering the car. I ran the codes on my techstream then cleared them and tried driving a bit more. It drove great for a out 20 minutes then the codes came back. The codes the second time were P3000 P3024 C1259 C1310 Is my Hv battery dead? Im fine with doing a full replacement as I dont have the time to mess with taking it apart and rebalancing. Any help would be appreciated, Im desperate now.

Yes your HV battery is dying (dead). If you want the problems to go away, you would need to get a new battery. Getting a refurbished battery will be a band aid solution that will bring you back to where you are now.

Yes. The 3000 and 3024 codes point to a failed HV battery.

Three choices listed in order of least to most in terms of cost and reliability:

Repair failed modules with other used, good ones.
Purchase a refurb (rebuilt) battery from an aftermarket company or person.
    Purchase new Toyota battery.

    GOOD LUCK!

Unfortunately I dont have enough for a Toyota battery, Alaska prices seem to be even higher.
