Come January 2009, we will have had either a Clinton or Bush occupying the White House for the past 20 years.

Do we really wish to continue traveling down that road for another four to eight years? Sounds like a Poll question. ;)

Mildly amusing how, now that republicans have had both very honorable Bushes to represent their desires, they 'suddenly' become weary of too many bush/clinton terms. Your attitudes would be much more believable if you campaigned this issue BEFORE your god..junior ruined this country. At this position in time we have NO CHOICE but to get Hillary in so she can clean up your mess like Bill did after bush senior's term. Only this time after she cleans up your party's mess and gets us back on track, she must put a lock box on any anticipated national surplus so you guys can't once again give the treasury away to the rich WHILE PLANNING FOR A WAR WITHOUT END.

If Hilary brings only 25% amount of pain to the republicanites that Dumbo Bush did to normal sane people, then Hell yes.

Dumbo Bush faked like he was middle road and swung way right.

I'm thinking Hilary is faking middle road even hawkish and turns us into Amsterdam. Not light I like Amsterdam, but I'm willing to but up with it if it gives fat male chicken hawk republicans heart attacks(metaphorically that is).

The ship seems to be listing, maybe a little...but if we rearrange a few more deck chairs, no one will notice.

Amsterdam is actually a very nice city, as cities go. I do not like cities. But if some pretty lady asked me to take her to visit a city and told me to pick the city, Amsterdam would be my first pick. Really nice museums, great public transportation, friendly people who speak lots of languages. I've heard they have very liberal drug laws, but I never actually saw signs of drug use.

Never been, but I'm assuming it's liberal and socialist. 2 things that'll pee off the right, which would be just fine with me.

I stopped visiting Amsterdam after this:

Unless American women want to go the way of Kathleen Willey, Annita Broderick, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinski (let me think about that one), and others, we'd be better off with ______________ instead of a Clinton.

This is EXACTLY what's wrong with our country. Do anything you can to screw the other party and make them look bad -- regardless of the cost to the country. No more Bush-Clintons ever. In fact, I'd even make that no more Dem-Repubs ever. Anybody for a third party candidate?

Maybe you could say what is factually incorrect about the aritcle linked. The only error I saw was an omission. The author speculated about why van Gogh was killed, yet the note stuck to his chest by the murder weapon made it clear that Muslims were 'offended" by his work. Furthermore, in another thread you bash think tanks and then quote them when convenient. How about some consistency?

LOL

Look at the source of funding for the think tanks in which you choose to put your faith into then ask me that again with a serious face. Large corporate interests and right-wing political figures vs small watch dog groups led by informed citizens?

My data (that helps form my worldview) is generally rigorous and is not based predominantly on ANY think tank BS.

Again, care to dispute the interests of your sources and how they are working for the good of the people of our nation?

Again, since you can't find anything incorrect with the column, I'll take your evasion to mean the article is correct.

You are right, it's sad that there was ever a Bush in the white house.

Nah, it means I am too busy to look for inconsistancies in the article partially because I don't really care and because I am in the middle of writing a scientific term paper on ocean acidification. One thing you learn real quickly in the sciences is that you can sift the grain from the chaff by following the money (who paid for the research) and what organizations are involved. IE, your sources are dirty and therefore I am not going to waste my time on researching them any further.

The word "socialist" has many meanings. I use it to describe a market-driven economy in which the workers control their means of production. Businesses must succeed in the marketplace if they are to continue, but instead of being run by the investors, who take all the profit, they are run by the workers, who receive all the profit.

In the U.S. many people use the word "socialist" to refer to a welfare state. The Netherlands has a very strong welfare system, but it is a capitalist country.

So because one psychopathic religious extremist murdered an outspoken film maker, you will boycott an entire city? Or is it because you oppose religious tolerance and you blame religious tolerance for this disgusting murder?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TimBikes @ Nov 7 2007, 11:19 PM) </div>
I've been voting for third-party candidates for as long as I've been old enough to vote. I voted for the Green Party in the last two elections. Next year, if Obama gets the nomination (which I doubt will happen: I think racism is still too entrenched in both parties) I will vote for him. I don't know if I'd vote for Clinton, but the cry of "20 years of Bush-Clinton" will not affect my decision. I'll judge her as a candidate, not for her name. I'm not sure I'd trust her to change anything, though, so I may well vote for the green party candidate again.
